atclarke - CONGRATS! I am glad someone on this forum is seeing progress before the year mark. Makes me hopeful I will see something soon as well (our timelines are only days apart).
In terms of you getting preferential treatment, I think everyone on here would agree that we would do just about anything to get our significant others here as quickly as possible. You going to two different MPs and forcing someone to help you and perhaps pull a few strings is just proof positive of your devotion to your family and I applaud you for that. Good work lady!
To everyone else, this process is beyond flawed. I read a "policy statement" that says the govt is committed to reuniting families and that they work towards a 6 month process approval timeline. I laughed out loud. Kingston seems to be the worst but very few places have 6 month wait times. It does seem right now that Chris ALexander is shortening wait times but we are still trapped in a ridiculous process. Changes are seriously needed and I plan to spend a lot of timing grilling my MP and candidates in the next election to make sure I am voting for the right party. I suggest you all do the same and that we take our frustrations out on the system and not those of us who are all victims of the system.
