Just becareful because you can get a CBSA that's an A S S and they can deny you entry back into Canada. I've seen it happen first hand while I've been at the airport

Hi everyone. Couldn't help but weigh in here. I'm a family law lawyer. And everyone on here should be aware that removing children from canada without the express consent of the other parent is unlawful. And if u are caught you can be charged criminally in addiotn to being denied entry into the host country. You should always have a notarized consent to travel document sworn by the non accompanying parent. It would be careless and very risky to do otherwise especially if the other parent has refused to consent. You can always apply for a court order to travel dispensing with the other parents consent if necessary.

I have seen many instances both personally and professionally where there have been serious consequences for people who don't have consent and attempt to travel.

Hey... I never got permission from my ex... We just went anyway and never got asked for anything at either airports from his father....

Montréal airport always asked me the birth certificate of my daughter to proof that her father is not declared....so I do not need any permission letter...but if he would have be declared I would have to show the permission letter for sure every trips I went with her.

Lets chanting for a PPR on Halloween ! PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR!

I have never been asked for the letters, but each time I travel with my kids (including just going over the boarder shopping with them), I always get a letter. I actually had it written into the separation agreement with my ex-husband that neither of us could refuse travel for the children with the other parent as learning about other cultures is in the best interest of the children.....but it also says that it is my responsibility to have it drawn up and his to sign & have it notarized at least 9 days prior to the expected travel date.

So he may not be able to renew his passport since none of those are happening. Unless they consider 6 months to be expiring??

MrsP - there may be someone that can do it way faster if he asks around (aka paying off the right people). Good luck!

My husband renew his passport that was expiring May 2015 in August 2014 as per my request. He went to Montego Bay with the form, passport pictures and paid the fees and picked up his PP at PICA about 21 days after. I knew we would not rush to JA once he was here and that we were near the end of immigration process, therefore smart to renew it while he was there. He had no problems at all.

After he got his new passport, I had him to send a certified copy of his new passport by his JP to Kingston since the one in the application was no longer valid along with an updated police check. One week after he received add. Docs request with prepaid envelope, and two more week PPR.

The only thing that is worriesome is that both KGN and POS have a lot of "requests" out but they are not returning any passports!! I want some quick turnarounds and landing stories PRONTO!!

Hope everyone had a good week. Oh and Happy Halloween!!

Oh also CanJammer....do you have an interview scheduled or was it just an observation about KGN having interviews that week?

When is your interview scheduled? Your file was/is in POS but interview thankfully will happen in KGN right? Did they ask you/spouse to bring much to the interview? Please keep us posted.
