Hi Jam FAM!

Looks like Kingston has fallen asleep on us this week. Hopefully soon we will get some more ppr. Come on Kingston we need our spouses to come home!! I am becoming increasingly inpatient.. According to my gcsm notes today was the application assignment due date ( and as much as I know nothing is guaranteed.. Especially with Kingston) was hoping for ppr or some sort of update/notification or something! This being forced to just keep waiting in the dark like this is killing us! Hopefully soon we get more ppr.
Come on Kingston! PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR PPR

Yes email them because I did and they said.."medical extension granted". Soo happy about that...they responded like 3 days after I sent the email to them..

Email address:...Kingston.immigration@international.gc.ca

good morning JAMFAM. another day ahead...PPR PPR PPR for all who patiently wait for their lives to begin with their husbands.
so has anyone tried anything outside the box (getting MP to call, write etc) to get info back from kingston? all of us are just here waiting and its inhumane. like i dont know if im coming or going half the time. i cant believe they expect you to just sit like a goof and do nothing for 25 months, and why and how can it take that long?! im just wondering if anyone has tried anything drastic...and if so did it work? ive been told by lawyers and my MP and everybody under the sun that there is nothing to do but wait. i just wont accept that....somethings gotta give!!!!

The MP won't really do anything unless it is past the posted processing times on the CIC website - which haven't been updated since March 10th. Pure BS if you ask me. Lawyers are a waste of money....they don't speed up the process nor can they find any info out that you can't find yourself.

Have you tried to order your GCMS notes to see if anything is going on with your file? Not like all the VO's update them anyways. Also remember that not everyone wait's that long. Most the past year have been getting through in 12-14 months.

Can you please give me your timeline and I will add it to the spread sheet.

They most likely extended your medicals because it is within the 15 months since you did them and they have requested a PC redo....which means they are close to the end of your process.

They won't extend medicals if it is past the 15 month mark and you are not close to the end....this is as per the CIC website but we all know that Kingston doesn't follow all the rules!!!

how do i request my notes?

heres my timeline so far...

we are going into our second year of marriage

August 16th 2013- Application submitted to case processing in Mississauga
September 9th 2013- I was approved as a sponsor- file sent to Kingston
September 26th 2013- File received in Kingston
August 12th 2014- Medical and Police Record Expire

as of today they keep telling my MP that our file is "in cue" (whatever the hell that means as its been like that for 6 months) i have him call every 6-8 weeks.
they have yet to say if they will extend the meds and police record....

In cue means that it is sitting on someone's desk for them to look at it. All Mp's will say that because they can't get any info that you can't get.

They ill not extend police checks...those you have to redo. Hold off on your meds until the 15month mark and then email Kingston to ask if they have extended them or if they need to be done again.

I will find the old post about the notes and repost it here for you.

How to Order the notes

Here is what another member wrote out on how to get them and also a video that another forum member posted

http://youtu.be/j_E_dq_uLVo

Here is a previous post regarding GCMS notes:

GCMS notes (Global Case Management System) are notes that are made on your file. The Sponsor can order them online or by mail for $5 and the Applicant has to sign a consent form. They take 30 calendar days (sometimes longer) to be sent to the Sponsor once they are ordered.

A lot of people order the GCMS notes if they have been in the process (around a year) and haven't heard anything from Kingston. It is also a good idea to order them if you are scheduled for an interview.

Should you choose to order the notes, here is the link to the CIC website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

Side note: it is entirely possible that the visa officer working on your application may not update the GCMS notes so do not be discouraged if you order them and there is limited information in them

to be honest i really hope i dont make it to the 15 month mark!

and thank you for the quick detailed responses... even the discussion about things can help a little at times, the more we know the better!
i will go ahead and request my notes sometime this month
