Jah we all feel that way!! Sadly though there are a few members that are at that now and patiently (as much as possible) waiting. Keep in mind that they say that the wait starts from when you got your sponsorship approval and/or file got to Kingston. Not from when you got married or applied. So from your timeline your year mark looks to be around mid September.

When does/did your police check expire? They use to be a year (before my time) and are now 9 months. If yours has expired you may want to consider having your spouse get a new one to keeep on hand to send to Kingston as soon as they request it. Medicals are one year but like Sammy said they tend to be extended by Kingston.

true.

police record expires same time as meds august 12th 2014 so yes he should go get it done to avoid delays when they request it.
i really do hope they extend the meds...its just not fair to have to pay for everything all over again without a reason why they couldnt have done it within the time it was valid. i mean come on, it seems like everything is a money thing with kingston. they just dont care about what this does financially and emotionally to those involved.

We all hope that but I am 2 weeks away from that mark :(

now when you requested your notes, did they have any explanation why its taking so long in your case? seems very random, like its not by date or time when you apply, but more the luck of the draw if you get thru before 15 months.
im so confused as to how some get thru in as little as 9 months and others take the whole processing time.
what makes them address your file once in cue? when in cue is there a time limit on the person whos desk it is sitting on?
i really wish we could demand some answers from these people as to what they do in a day at work. it seems like they are napping instead or working. here in canada at least we can speak to a human being...there its just the recording. and they dont answer to anybody. here you demand a governing body to be accountable with explanation and thats what you will get! it may not be the answers you were looking for but its answers none the less!

Your notes will not give you any reason why your case may take longer than the next person. You will be able to see if they have started working on your file and also see any notes that they may have added.....well I say this but note VO's update notes either. . You just need to hope that you get a VO that updates your file

NO ONE knows why some people get through in 9 months and others 20 months. They are SUPPOSED to work on applications in order that they receive them but they don't.

They are supposed to look at your file again on your "bring forward date" which is called the due date on your notes. This is 1 year from when you got sponsorship approval. Some VO's follow this rule and others don't.

No one will ever know the process in which Kingston works as we all just have to wait our turn in line. You need to remember though that Kingston is responsible for 3 other islands visa applications as well and Kingston is a very busy processing visa office. They get thousands and thousands of applications a year.

I know it's a frustrating process and some of us have been waiting longeer than others.....but at the end of this wait it will seem like nothing once your spouse is back with you and you have the rest of your lives together.

As one member was fond of always saying "may the odds be ever in your favour"...lol...from the Hunger Games books. We also refer to this as "winning the Kingston lottery".

I do understand that they cannot be processed exactly in order bc for example two files same sponsorship approval date, both picked up same day yet mine may take longer to process security if spouse has a very common name (hence extra checking) or they request stuff from me and it takes me longer to get docs to them. Yet second person security gets cleared in a week and they send their requested docs in a few days so they can get their PPR months ahead of mine. Having said all that we still are in the COMPLETE DARK as to why some things happen in KGN.

Sammy your day will be here very soon!!!

Who else is in line waiting for a long/longer time?

Agreed but i must say, we are waiting to start living! the real test comes when all this immigration crap is over, only then can we experience the trials, tribulations and blessings faced day to day in a marriage and in life. everything is on hold until then.
this whole process is a nightmare. i truly do not find comfort in knowing that we did everything the right way and look at the hell we have had to face! ive seen with my own eyes, others who have cheated the system and are now living happily ever after here in canada. like WTF?
everyone applying should be treated equally.
someone was sleeping when they created this process and the guidelines...every VO should have to follow the same rules. and they should be enforced.

I agree with you but it doesn't take a year for a background check to be done for one person when others after them have gotten through...that's what i mean about working in the order that they receive them. Ya a couple months difference I understand but when it goes beyond that...it isn't right.

And I hope my time is soon. I am getting tired of hearing my husband complain about not getting answers.....LOL

you are not alone with that one sammy! its the only problem in my marriage, its just so draining to be positive and encourage him to stay positive when no end is in sight. my husband has transitioned from complaining to losing it (hot head for sure) every time the 8 weeks passes and we get the same answers as last time.

Yes I meant a few months not the excruciating 1 year differences for some. The problem is that they are not even starting our files until the one year mark it would seem. Once they start it they are done in a few months at most (barring any problems).

LOL Sammy...funny how they complain and whine about it but it is us who have to deal with Kingston in this process and most likely did all the paperwork. And he will say "well so and so got through in 8 months" or the "have you called or emailed Kingston to ask them" even after I have told him that you cannot call and they do not respond.

....thats the worst part is it starts to cause tension and problems between you and your spouse. i mean how could it not? jamaicans that have never been to canada dont understand how we can be proactive on their behalf and still get nowhere with our efforts. its funny cause they think if we cry and scream and yell at the VOs it will help, but they dont realize we cant even get one on the phone for a direct convo! all around this is just wearing and seems endless.
