HF Income Tax...bwoy i could write a book

Well i did get 330 HST rebate

I advised Service Canada last sept that i was married in 2008
Jan 2010 Child tax benefit cut and they say i ower 800 cause i am married
April GST redirected to repay Child tax credit
April filed income tax as married, also submitted a pretty much blank tax return for him. Got my return less 700+ that went to Child tax credit. Didnt get anything back from his - not even an acknowledgement
Contacted CTC on several occasions explaining spouse was not PR until Nov 2009. Had to declare his world income all the way back to 2006. Which i put as zero. Still waiting to hear from them as they only reply every 45 days...sounds like KG eh. So i may get the 800 Child Tax Back as well I may not.

Though you are married you cant file a return till he gets here cause it ask day he became PR, Income will be zero for 2009 tax year but you have to put your income.

So yeah not sure why you havent gotten...even if you were to get the singles payment.

Frequent - thanks for touching base!! I'm having a similar nightmare with my GST rebate. They cut me off since last year. They keep sending me letters saying that the cannot calculate my rebate without hubby's SIN. I keep writing them back saying that he hasn't landed yet and doesn't have a SIN and provided his world income (a nominally small figure of course) and UP UNTIL NOW - NOTHING! They are lucky that this immigration issue is taking up all of my spare time because the lady that I spoke to last time really didn't like me too much!! LOL 8) Still waiting on that HST rebate though.... probably tied into the GST so I may not be seeing that at all. :'(

My uncle called to inform me that my mother is in JA cause all kinds of mischief and havoc!! She wanted him to call my husband's phone to find out if he travelled OR call his son "the fiyah chief" (who is staying at my house)to find out if my husband came home with me. she didn't want to call from her phone because she didn't want HER number to show on the caller ID. She was desperately trying to find out if her efforts paid off and if she succeeded in preventing my hubby from travelling. He told her he wasn't interested in her games and told her where to go!!

Hubby doesn't want me to pursue any other avenues and I feel so powerless and helpless just sitting back and doing nothing. He feels that we should leave well enough alone and not add fuel to the fire and let the IO do her job. And so we wait.....

uh oh Canada Revenue ??? Shoot should I be telling them I got married? we were married in March so I thought I'd just claim it next year. Shoot, my son went to live with his dad last November....I suppose I should tell them that too ??? I'm so in trouble!!! lol

I've only got a minute, but as for revenue canada... to get the HST rebate, if your hubby hasn't done a tax return (and they have youas married) and is landed, you need to fill out a RC-151 form (search their site) need a SIN too... there is another form (forget the name but i think its called status change or something, comes up if you search world income)... this one needs to be filled out to get child tax credit if hes landed (and you have kids )

if he hasnt landed, fill out a world income with a written explaination for either payment to go thru

nae nae... if you dont tell them it might mean they go back and audit.. i'd tell them

NEWS UPDATE: I was supposed to get my PP back with visa by tomorrow, but the visa office called today and said FEDEX will come to pick it up next week Monday, so I should have it by Tuesday-Wednesday, God's willing.

To everyone else, especially MAPLE, you guys are always in my prayers and hoping and praying for more good news for everyone. May God in His grace continue to strengthen, keep and bless us all. If there's anything you remember throughout this entire process, REMEMBER that marriage is a commitment between you, your spouse and GOD, therefore, He will ensure that ALL OF US are united with our husbands/wifes and come out victorious. Welcome back Miss Jamwifey nice to see you. Everyone needs a break once and awhile. Hope you had a wonderful time with hubby.
So this income tax thing yes its great. I called and so glad I did cause I didn't get that HST either. They told me I have to fill out and send the CTB9 form so I will get my child tax credit new one starting for July and also the other things. She told me its all based on hubby even though he isn't here. I never even thought cause I had to do that last yr also. They held my child tax for 2 months cause I didn't know about that. I wasn't even going to put him on my return but revenue canada said I have to even though he isn't here.
She said I will still get my gst in july hmm lets see this. And then they will retro what they owe me. Its all such a bother. I changed my status as soon as I got married.
Maple I hope everything works out soon for you and your hubby can come home where he belongs.

I was also wondering when they say "the file is scheduled for review" do they go back over the whole thing or look to see if meds need redone?
