I am trying to link things together when it comes to this process (filing). Question: Did your hubby ever travel to Canada before or travel period? Me and my Dad having a disagreement over the phone. Just trying to prove something. :

Hey guys,
Good news!
My hubby got an email asking him to take his medicals and criminals record again (Meds received March 23,2012). Im surprised they want this to be done because I noticed that so many people got an extension instead of being asked to do it over. Have you guys ever heard of this? Does anybody know the prices in Kingston for all of these? Thanks again for your help

Good evening not sure if anyone answered this for you yet as I am just starting to read all the messages from today but they will only extend your medicals if the last thing that is holding up your application is the fact that your medicals are expired, if they are still working on your application then they will ask you to redo your meds so it looks like that is what happened in your case. Morning Morning Morning hope everyone good i like share my news got a call just to lomg ago telling to carry in my passport as soon as possible was still sleeping wen i was talking to the person but wen i hang up i realize wat i jus heard and i am overjoy and at the same time kinda shell shock but Father God works anyway you guys dont let ppl get you down wit the process because what is for you noone can take it cause a the Father provide suh the hombre wa feel d need fi rub it in the ppl face need fi build n humble himself.........i pray everyone get thru n that for real cause i dont see way the fighting one love

You have proven me right, I was telling my dad that delinquencies and inconsistencies with agents cause processing to be inconsistent. He insist that my status hasn't changed just because I am young and we were just boyfriend and girlfriend until a year ago and "we don't have any real adult history" (stupid statement)...blah blah blah. He has all sorts of theories and no matter how I show him and how much other ppl say otherwise he won't shut up . He is saying your status change before me and others becuz your hubby travelled before or been granted visa before. I am just so mad at him for trying to make it seem like is my fault our thing don't come tru because "I failed to consider that they KNOW 7 years or not we are just a young couple who don't have any REAL history;so I shud've waited until I visited more or we have more paper trail"

As I mentioned yesterday, I reached out to my MP and for those who are interested this is the response I got so far.

Good afternoon Ms. Parkin,
I am following up on your email regarding your application to sponsor your spouse for Canadian Permanent Residency.
As you may be aware of, the average processing times vary substantially from office to office from the shortest at 8 months in Havanna and Warsaw to the longest at 32 months in Islamabad. The present processing time stated for Kingston is 22 months.
Having said this I would be happy to follow up on the application if you can provide me with your husbands full name, his date of birth and the CIC client identification and/or application numbers.

I'm very please with this response as it shows that they are at least willing to check up on it for me. If it means all they will do is ask the status...I'll take whatever I can get!

Its not because your young. Me and hubby was bf/gf before we got married. It has nothing to do with it. Lol your dad is funny. Its just the process, some will get through faster than some.

Aww - I'm sorry you're upset! I have no earth-shattering status update LOL - just got the email saying they've received my application...perhaps he was making reference to someone else? In any case, while I'm not an expert, I don't believe whether my husband travelled outside of Jamaica or not would bear much weight in this process..perhaps moreso if it was a visitor visa application.

My husband and I were pretty young when we started dating too - I was fresh out of university at the age of 20/21. I'm sure with 7 years of history you have a lot more paper trail than I do! Keep your head high hun - if you need to chat we're here

Tell your dad that most ECAS status change to in process when they are going to either 1) request documents from you or 2) request your passport.
