Has anyone ever sent a barrel to Jamaica? I'm considering sending some stuff down for my grandmother, cousins and hubby but I don't know the process at all!!

I have sent one to my husband.t cost me $75 to have it picked up from my house. I then sent him the confirmation information from the shipping barrel. It cost him $60 to clear it from the wharf. But he told me that it is a whole day event. He also had to pay $20 to get it delivered to his home

I send with sea jamaica.. I think thats what it call... I bought a barrel for $30 and to ship it plus a box was $100... And it took 2 weeks to reach there.. So 2-3 weeks for it to arrive in ja.. But the only thing where I went to pick it up waas in tivoli...lol

Thanks for all the information. My husband has booked an appoitnemtn for February 17. It now costs 11,400JA and he has to bring his passport

What are things I need to do when I am carrying in my passport I want to carry it in tomorrow.....
Do i need a dhl package? because they didn't state in the call they just told carry in my passport as soon as possible.......
Do i need to carry a envelope with my information on the front?
or i could just walk in with my passport alone and drop it off?

Please help don't know what to do ??? :-[ :-\

Personally I would never send a barrel again. I sent one barrel paid 20 for it then 60 for pick up at the house fine. Now this is what sucks got to the airport declared I had a barrel coming in got a yellow slip. Went to clear the barrel well well you have to have a tax card so I couldn't use the yellow slip. Talk about a run around I so regret. You have to go to one place pay 30.00 then to a next place pay them 20 then I next 30-40. I swear by the time I left I spent 100.00 to clear the barrel. Waste of time and money never again.

Oh goodness - I think I might send it before I go down and send it in my husband's name for him to clear.

I find that when i'm quoted a price..and when he's quoted a price it's completely different!

For our wedding, he did all the negotiations! LOL!
