We are nearing the absolute end of 2013, and though for some of us you just want to scream because you are still waiting, always remember that even though the glass SEEMS half empty, you're forgetting that there is still something in there. Another day has passed, which means that you are one day closer to being reunited with your hubbies (or wives).

It was an easy secret to keep from my mom because I was going to go to JA for four days over the holidays. That trip was going to be a surprise for my hubby!!!! She knew from November that I would be in JA for Christmas. So when hubby got the call I changed the dates with the airline and everything worked out for the best!!!

Ahhhhh.......you little coordinator!!! Now you have to keep us all updated on how hubby is adjusting. My guy is doing really well and makes me laugh (most of the time !!) with some of his comments and observations.......Caribbean men have a way with words that can be very funny. Hope you two are getting enough rest! :-* Blessings.

Thank you Frankie for the thoughts. My thoughts are with you also for this January as I remember last year wasn't so good but blessings to you for always thinking of me. My end is soon near, i can feel it. I was talking to hubby yesterday and he said babes i am in such a happy mood and I don't know why but I just am. I was so happy just to hear that in his voice finally and it made my heart swell. Even this Christmas wasn't hard as it was last year.....I remember crying most of the time last xmas but not once did I cry this year, i went shopping instead LOL. Hope you had a great xmas and a happy new year coming up!

Wow...June 2011!!!! Is your application family class? Are you sponsoring your spouse?

You should be getting your passport back soon if a decision was made on Dec 20. Do you have a tracking number with the courier service you used to have your passport returned? I would track the package or call DHL (or whoever you used) if you don't have a tracking number and see if they have your package.

Congratulations on having the patience of a saint and to making it to the end of your journey!

Yes, I am sponsoring my husband; he is still in Jamaica waiting. He had to send a DHL envelope and the lady at the DHL made him put both piece into the envelope so he does not have a tracking number. All he can do is keep calling DHL to see if it is back as yet.

We had a delay in May 2012 because he had to submit one missing document, then his whole file went back into the waiting pile..

I read a lot of your responses and had to smile because I wished my wait was not this long but it was. I am praying this will all be over soon.

I smiled when I read everyone's landing story. Believe me when I said, I went back and read almost a year and a bit of stories. You are all amazing. Thanks for helping me to feel normal.

Our case took extra time because hubby has a couple children and we had to get all of their medicals, etc. This is the new rules. Our file went in as all the new rules were being put in place, so I think we fell into that backlog system somehow. However, I am praying the path is cleared. Only hubby is coming now as the kids live with their mom.

What a long journey! We thought he was going to be home in time for Christmas this year but because of the delay in sending out the PPR letter, things didn't happen as quickly as we hoped.

How long does it take to return those passports via DHL?

We are both excited and wanting an end to this process.

A lot of people will be falling into this new law expecially if there is no children but there is nothing to worry about. As for DHL they pick up on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the embassy. Has your ECAS gone to decision made? Praying your hubby's passport gets picked up tomorrow. There is no standard time of a passport return everyone's is different. Kingston has had my husbands passport 4 weeks tomorrow. Good luck

Now she has come to realize we're not trying to take her son so the passport part is done for his son . Now we have to do the medical ( takes time with the cost and all for passport, travel back n forth to Kingston and medical costs). That being said , did Kingston contact you and give you a certain time to get it done? Just curious what to expect. I hope to have it done as I'm sure they haven't even opened our file yet Thanks in advance for any info

Under the new rules, all medicals were submitted at the same time the application was sent in. We took time to get it all done.

If you already sent in your application and now need to submit children's medicals, then do so immediately and quote the application number. Your file will not be fully process without it, unless the mother signed a document saying that she does not want the children to even be immigrated by the father. There is a legal document on "cic" website she can sign and have to be notarized and submitted. If she wants to send them, then you have to do medicals, passport photos and passport for kids, with a copy of their birth certificate.

At one point we were missing one of the kids passport. Kingston wrote and requested it. Then we had 2 months to get it in. We did in time. Try to get everything together and send it together soon.

LMAO you nailed it girl thank you for making my day!!!! Waiting on the new shiny paper so they can ink it up with some info and place it in the passport. Patiently waiting with COG hubby and him may just be on the same flight.

I was looking at flights and flyjamaica crossed my mind so went to check their site. Wow can you believe their prices are so cheap right now compared to any other airline. 247.00 for a one way ticket they fly at 7am and into Toronto by 11:40am AMAZING.
