I don't know if this has been posted already...but hubby went to redo his police certificate last week and they had a digital machine for them....NO MORE INK PRINTS!! YAY JA!!!
I am hoping this will help the processing time for our RCMP checks now.

I think its pretty quiet due to being fed up with no news from Kingston :'( I know myself it gets a little frustrating not hear ANYTHING at all...if they even send a "." or something in an e-mail we would know that they are still alive over there. I sent a case specific e-mail and ordered GCMS notes so here's to another questionable response

What's your opinion on name changes? I am going to be changing my name after we get married in November. Do you think it really gets you any bonus points for the marriage being genuine? Or it's not worth delaying the application by a few weeks to get the name change done first?

I know I could always send in the application with my maiden name and then send a change of name, but I don't want to delay anything by emailing them with updates either.

Hi CV, chiming in from the POS thread, imho - I would not delay the sending of the application for this reason. I do not think it gives more weight to your app. and at some point in the process if you want to send supplementary info. for proof of ongoing relationship, you can include that along with other additional proof. The most important items will be sent with the application. Blessings.

I changed my name a month after our wedding. I am pretty sure it does not effect your application at all. When we applied my passport still had my maiden name on it and I travel with the same passport for 9 months after my name change.

No the name change would not cause any delays, I sent our application in with my regular last name and then changed my last names months after and there was no effect of it, I emailed kingston a copy of my new drivers license and passport and all was good! The application will just stay under the name you applied under.
