anyone order notes lately? since the strike? I was suppose to get mine back on the 2nd and still nothing. I wrote a email to them asking and it came back as it may be delayed because of the strike in Canada. :

Hey guys!

I've been lurking for a while due to the rough times i've been having. In my culture we recognize the energy people have and do not encourage the spread of negative energy, so i have tried to distance myself from the forum and not spread any bad feelings. Constant questions from friends/family about when my husband will be here was really starting to get to me, and I know that they mean well, but the constant reminder that I cannot be with my husband was something very difficult to work through. The positive words and stories from this forum is definitely a god send and i oddly feel better knowing i'm not in this alone ... that there is a forum full of great people experiencing the same journey as I am.

I just wanted to thank you all for the positive impact you have been for me

Whenever you need to find comfort this is the place to be, whether it's to be active on the forum or to lurk. Both are completely acceptable! We can all relate to the roller coaster of emotions you are experiencing and we are here to support you through thick and thin. :-*

Did you know that you can claim your husbands/wives as dependant on your taxes. I just did a reassessment on my 2012 taxes in May this year and just got the money on saturday! I think this is the universe telling me I have to prepare for my husband to come because I know have the money for his flight home

Hey Chickie, your feelings are quite justified and we understand, Hey you're only human so no matter how upbeat you might be some days, there are some where you will feel down but no matter what, just know that your time is coming up and God has it all worked out for you. Your success is very near. Keep calling it into being. God has you in the palm of his hands He's right there with you so hang in there even when the going gets tough. You've come this far and will get to the end very soon. P.S. Remember to update me on your spreadsheet if you haven't already but if so ignore this reminder as I haven't yet checked.

Sebella, if you are willing to devote some time and energy and your kitchen table (where most of us did ours, I think), you can do this on your own, as many people before have said. First, download the Guide. Before you do anything else, just read it, preferably with your spouse so you both have an idea what is going on and what will be required. One of you will end up being responsible for most of the work, usually whoever is better with details and organization.

Second thing you want to do is consider your budget. There are fees for the application itself, plus "ancillary" fees for things like photos, police certificates, printing supplies, and other little things. You and your spouse need to divvy up the list and work out how you will pay for these things.

Once your budget is at least considered and discussed, and the Guide read, you can start drafting your application and gathering supporting documents.

Every day we check the ecas to no avail. Is there a real reason why we should be checking this? I'm wondering if I will ever find anything there. I heard they give you a call when they need something or have gone to the next step. Yet I keep checking this ecas like a fool. Please tell me... That one day I will see something other than....


1. We received your application for permanent residence on September 24, 2012.

2. Medical results have been received.

I didn't even bother with all this, I just bought a Canadian Birth Certificate from someone and then applied for a passport, It costed me 500 dollars. The guy I got it from was someone named Jann. I payed 500 through western union and after 2 days I got my Canadian documents and flew here with no issues. Dont waste your time applying through the government. They wont help you if your Chinese. Jason Kenney is a racist.

Morning Danielle!

I think ecas was created to give us something to do during the wait...mine hasn't changed since I was approved to sponsor my hubby in June 2012. It changes to 'in process' for some (not all) and it seems the majority of updates on ecas happen if there is an interview requested or near the end of the process when it changes to decision made.

KG seems to communicate mostly by phone, email, or letter (snail mail).

So we'll all just keep on being a bunch of fools and check ecas every day...sometimes several times a day...I will go into shock if/when I see it updated.

@ Sebella - another thing you can do is be sure to print off a couple copies of the application and use one as a 1st draft and then one as your good draft because you are sure to go back and fix things a few times around! And before you send it in, take a copy of the application in case you ever want to refer back to it for anything.

well good morning everyone. I am not sure how many people are actually waiting for their passports back still. I am under the impression that some have gotten them back but have not returned to us to share their good news! This is what I have:

We got many many people patiently waiting here for PPR's come on Kingston.....its starting to get cold up here now....send our hubbies home to us!
