Yea I am pretty sure that if he became a citizen then he would travel like a canadian then but not with a PR

My husband has a 10 year visa to the USA in his passport, so he is good.

Good morning jamfam,

Could someone please tell me if I can go to jamaica on a one way ticket and book my return ticket while I am down there. I'm trying to stay down there till my hubby gets to come home with me.

I've gone down before and cancelled my ticket while I was down there to extend my stay, I gather you could do the same.

I didn't mail the copy into CIC and I called about 2 weeks after I paid just to make sure the payment was showing and it was.....also my notes reflected that they posted them to my application 8 days after I paid them.

You need the return ticket when you're leaving so you can fill in the departure immigration form, so technically you will have a return ticket when you leave Canada. Once you're down there you can go online and cancel the ticket, you will probably lose $50 off the return value for the cancellation, but the rest will be held in your name with the airline that you can use towards your return ticket when you're ready to re-purchase it. You can modify the departure slip they give you on arrival at Jamaican immigration in the airport for the new return flight once you have the information and submit that when you're ready to leave. I've done it more than once, you should have no problems.

I though I'd share this... not to promote church/pastors but to look at human relationships and struggles to show that it is God who keeps us from falling. No one is there for you like he is but he often sends human beings to help us navigate the path, in the same way this forum work to help in a difficult process. Remember to turn to the divine in you when the road gets rocky. But look to every situation to find there will be people around us that help us heal. Strangers and family strengthen us in this journey of life/God determine the outcome. Be blessed.

Thank you I booked a return ticket for 500 with air canada. If I do stay past the end of jan I can extend my ticket and pay a bit more I think it's 75 and the difference I believe.
