Good morning jamfam,

Could someone please tell me if I can go to jamaica on a one way ticket and book my return ticket while I am down there. I'm trying to stay down there till my hubby gets to come home with me.

What I've done in the past is purchase the most expensive fully refundable ticket to save The 75 buck change fee. Then refunded it when I got down there. Just make sure you don't overstay. More problems then enough!!!

Thank you I booked a return ticket for 500 with air canada. If I do stay past the end of jan I can extend my ticket and pay a bit more I think it's 75 and the difference I believe.

I am so happy that you have decided to wait out the immigration process with your hubby in JA. A little envious too.

I'm sure you are aware that you are only allowed to stay there for three months at a time. If you will be staying longer you will have to ask for an extension. I remember reading about this somewhere but I'm not sure how it is done.

how long does it normaly take for immagartion to give back passports?

It usually takes about two weeks; however, some people have had to wait longer.

The first time I got them in 22 days, the last time in exactly 30 days.....so I don't think it is any faster lol

YAY! just booked time off going August 1 to 11th but I am hoping I dont have that my husband will be here by then!!! come on kingston give him the best phone call yet! He sounded so sad this morning asking me to come down now but I can so many people have summer holidays coming up. Maybe he will come home with me

I was hoping to come back online and read a lot of landing stories from all my people. Honey, hold on, your time is coming soon, I know you believe that with all your heart and it will be well worth it in the end. Systems fail, but your love never will.
