You really have to check out pricing and everything. Some companies have seat sales and stuff. So you really have to do your research!
When you stop over in Toronto I don't think you even have to collect your luggage. I think you only collect your luggage of you are going through immigration again (if you had a stopover in the USA)
But since Toronto to Saskatchewan is a domestic flight they will just switch the bags from one plane to the next.
And just in case I'm wrong - everything is documented on their computer ( saying how many bags you had. And you only have to pay for them once) (per direction once going to Jamaica and once coming home)

Once you enter Canada from a foreign country and go through immigration you need to collect your bags if you have a connection flight. That is why if you buy duty free or anything it has to be put in your checked bags. You can't carry it on your other flight.

As for the fee for bag...NO you don't need to pay again. Once you pay leaving JA that is it

I get asked this question all the time when booking flights for passengers.

I stand corrected!

Good afternoon everyone!

Hope everyone's Monday was not to bad!

Has anyone heard of the new airline that flies direct from Jamaica? It is called "Fly Jamaica". Some of the pilots and hostesses that were let go from the Caribbean Airlines buyout, purchased their own plane and has started this airline.

Currently they only fly out of KIN to JFK (New York), with the intentions of adding Toronto and Miami. I wish I had found this out before I bought my ticket because I would so support this initiative. This is self owned and operated; the Jamaican government has not even assisted with financing or subsidies. They are so backwards but let’s not go there.

I am pro small business operators against the big boys like Air Canada, Westjet...etc. Apparently, they serve cooked meals, the baggage allowance is two (2) 55lbs for economy and two (2) 70 lbs for Business class.

I will for sure be checking them out for my next trip and the prices are very decent like 165 and up. The Canadian government is giving them the round around (not surprising). But what God Bless no man curse and I will be spreading the word for their organization to grow.

Thanks for the replies. So as a travel agent, which airline do you recommend for cheap flights to saskatoon now. And what are the fares like?

Are you departing out of Mobay or Kingston? If MoBay I would try and take Air Transat as they have direct one ways. If Kingston I would look at WestJet or Air Canada

Fares are different for on each day

Hey Maddants,

I only recently found out about this. I am super excited. I am pro Afro-Carribbean ownership and independence. The Caribbean as a whole needs to stand up and fight the systemic issues that continue to plague the islands. This is such a great opportunity for employment and development for Jamaica and the Caribbean.

Could you give me a website link for air transat? The website I see doesn't offer departure from jamaica.

i am very excited about this new airline from jamaica....they just have to make sure that the government do have anything to do with the airline at all.......this airline is going to do very good in the coming future. one thing to is that they need to get a flight going to south africa so they will let jamaica be a gateway to africa as well i think.....that would be a very good move also....

It was okay...she was moving around like crazy on the way down there. Kicking me and a swear she had a foot in my rib at one point. But it was alright. The Dr said I was good to go and I went!!! Thank god I had the aisle seat though or the other people beside me would not have been happy about getting up so much lol

That's wonderful! I was wondering how you managed with the multiple bathroom trips and the sitting. She was super excited cause she knew what was going on...lol!
