ohhhh so me hoping that hubby won't have to do the RCMP check is wishful thinking I guess then lol if it happens it happens......:)

I am so glad you got your PPR though and thank you for the full timeline, at least others like myself can see what we have to look forward too. In a few weeks your hubby will be back home with you!

3 years but he went to every meeting with immigration, signed in all the time, never missed one, paid his own flight to go home and verified his departure at the gate and left at the correct time and never had any charges or criminal things while he was up here.

my husband was here 4 years and did all of that too. But they should have asked for him to do his prints already? The prints is the most difficult part of this whole process because Canada takes their sweet time submitting the information into their system. At this stage, I actually almost broke down because I emailed the RCMP every week about it and they would always reply that it is not completed yet.

They asked for that information 3 months after the documents arrived in Jamaica, so it's weird they haven't told your husband to do it yet. Normally if you live in Canada over 6 months, you have to do the fingerprints. Lets hope they skip that for you.

@ tintin - heres to crossing my fingers and hoping they skip it lol

@ oneandonly - at least we have tintin's timeline to see how it MAY go for us (may or may not lol)

Good afternoon tintin, I'm in the same situation as you and chickie. What leads to an arc for your hubby? My huband was in Canada for 5 years after overstaying. He came on a farm work visa never left. Immigration was looking for him never caught him. There were warrants out for him he hired a immigration lawyer never had to go to jail and get bailed. Immigration lawyer took him to a immigration officer gave him his plane ticket that I bought for him. He checked in with his officer weekly till his flight. Took him to the airport checked in went to the immigration officer left on a exclusion deportation banned for a year. Never been to jail here in Canada or in jamaica. Hope you can help chickie and me
