Canuck, just to clarify, its whydotheykeepusapart with the interview next week. Gosh, with that freudian slip, I hope there is no interview in my future...I am operating under the assumption that since hubby cleared selection and they have finally asked for original docs, police certificate and medical redo that we have bypassed an interview request!

So hubby was able to able to get an appointment with the DMP yesterday. New photos picked up and medical complete, including x-ray. Left out in the wee hours this morning after a few hours sleep to KG for the police certificate. Turns out Express is now 3 days, so will be ready before end of week. But since hubby's day off is Friday will have to wait until early next week when his work schedule has a good gap in the daytime to go back to KG to pick it up and drop everything off at CHC. Too bad they have no office hours Friday!

Whydothey, good luck with that interview. Maybe my birthday will be a good day for you!

Jam, glad to hear hubby is out of the hospital. Should be a quick recovery.

Stressed
, please heed everyone's advice and follow doctor's orders.

LCW, I hope to hear you've received that PPR soon!

And yes, thoughts and prayers for the people of Haiti - they are living a situation we can not even imagine right now. As much as we never usually like to hear that one group is getting preferential treatment by CIC, I sincerely hope that the Canadian goverment is able to work something out to fast track the Canadian families that are in the adoption process with Haitian children and orphaned siblings with family here with humanitarian visas. Unforunately there are many more children who will now be orphaned in communities that have no resources to take them in. Read a story yesterday that Denmark sent a plane to carry 100 Haitan children - 93 that were in the adoption process and 7 that were going to host families while adoptive families were sought. Talk about quick action. I had no idea that there were so many foreign adoptions of Haitian children around the world. I know its the poorest country in the western hemisphere but why are there so many orphaned children (before this tragedy).

LCW, you're very welcome. Hubby told me tonight he's thinking of you guys and hoping for good news very soon.

I have a question for you about the medicals. Hubby said tonight he is going topick up the police certificate and take everything in next Tuesday. When he was listing off what he has in the big envelope, he said nothing about medicals so I mentioned them. The DMP did not give him anything to submit to KG. Is this right? I would have thought there would be a form for him to submit like the first time we had medicals done. Did your DMP give anything to your hubby? I thought I would ask before I send hubby back to the DMP. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Helpmeplease said:
whydotheykeepusapart-good luck with the interview...:)

I hate that their is no pattern to immigration, everyone seems to have gotten the aor and then within 4 weeks or so they get the doc request, we received AOR November 12 and nothing since then...I just wish I knew what the hold up was..I just hope that on the doc request we will get our B#...so frustrating...
Helpmeplease, I am a little confused...was your B# not on your AOR? It is usually handwritten on it. Maybe I missed something in an earlier post. And there is no pattern to things, it really seems to depend on the IO, not that any us seem to know who that is. For example, KG had my file December 31, 2008 and we did not recieve AOR until mid-March 2009, after ecas updated and they started processing earlier that month. We had some medical follow-up dated March 31, 2009 then nothing official from them until we finally received the medical redo and documents request last week dated December 21, 2009. In fact, although I sent a number of emails, the only response I got back in June was a boldfaced lie that the medical redo had been mailed out. We even went the to the CHC together in early September and were told that there was a review at the end of the month, which also seems a fabrication because I did order my CAIPS and there is no mention of it.

I know you are probably tired of hearing to be patient, but based on your timeline (you submitted August 13 if I am not mistaken), your file at 5 months is not off-track yet. The fastest we have seen in "routine" cases recently through KG is about 7 months. So do not fret that they have not asked for documents. The request could be in the mail. Or maybe we have the same IO and the documents request will some after selection is done, right before the PPR. If you are really anxious about it you could contact your MP's office and ask them to request a status update from Ottawa. But keep in mind that it is early by KG timelines and there may not be much to the update if anything. My MP office made the first inquiry for me at about 6 months from the date the application was filed. There was not much to it, but at least I felt like I was doing something.

Sorry, its the term my MP used in her last communication with us saying hubby had passed and one of the lines on the CAIPS notes.

I believe that passing selection means they have made a positive decision dependent on a final review of the medical. In our case, since we passed selection, hubby has been determined qualified to immigrate subject to medical, which since it has expired we have been requested to redo.

The decision steps, which from my research into my CAIPS I understand to be as follows are identified by a number and the date of the decision on the notes:

PSDEC: Paperscreening Decision
1 passed 2 failed 3 withdrawal

BDEC: Security Decision
1 passed 2 omitted - all under 18 3 incomplete 4 failed

OREQ: Other Requirements (if any)
1 passed 2 OIC obtained 3 incomplete 4 failed 5 failed - criminal 6 failed - province 7 rehabilitation approved 8 rehabilitation denied

SELDEC: Selection Decision
1 passed 2 passed on discretion 3 OIC required (pro-Proclamation cases) 4 waived 5 failed 6 failed on discretion 7 withdrawn

MEDDEC: Medical Decision
1 passed 2 Incomplete 3 failed 4 dependant failed

FINDEC: Final Decision
1 visa issued 2 permit issued/to be Issued 4 refused 5 withdrawn

Others may have more information, or a better understanding of the order of the process, and I welcome them to elaborate on this post.

Jam, how is your hubby? Did they remove the gallbladder using the less invasive method with 4 seperate small incisions for the instruments instead of the cut you wide open method? I sure hope so. I had the less invasive method a year ago and recovery was very quick!

I hear ya!

Any updates? Any communication from KG while you were there? You are waiting on word for medical redo correct?
We have similar timelines, my application was filed 9 days after you and our medicals expired in June. We just got the request for redos and documents last week. Lonelycanadian wifey also recieved her redo request while you were away. I was hoping that since they seem to be moving on some 2008 files that you had some news.
