Hello,

sorry for peeping in your thread :-[ I am on the POS usually, but I can answer to the tax return qts...

Until hubby/wifey becomes a PR with a sin #, then yes, he/she will need to be added to the form and be declared.
It was my situation last year!

god night, and thank you for the music :)

ok so can we add him as a dependant because he has no income? and did you need to send them anything to prove this?

Thank you all so much for your encouraging words! This has been a long time coming. I remember when I first joined this forum with earlier members like... Suki, Witty, Basha, Bling, Icesfluffy, Jamgirl, AmandaWood and of course CharlieD. If any of you are still out there "Heyyyyyy!" :D. I really thought my file would have been completed in a short time because there weren't any "concerns" nor any dependants etc...but God knows best, just glad it's all over now and hubby and I will be in each other's arms soon enough <3 <3.

This forum served as a great place to receive information, tips, and encouragement. We shared our stress and anxieties, moments of joy and sadness..I'm so glad I was able to connect here. I hope this forum can remain a place where EVERYBODY feels free to share their journey.

Prior to my file going in progress, I didn't have much communication with Kingston. I would send emails but they wouldn't respond. After it went in progress, they communicated with us frequently and answered every question via email but we mostly used hubby's email (the applicant). If you redo your medicals it goes from Trinidad to Mississauga to Kingston. You can contact Mississauga to see if they have received it and date when they send it to Kingston (It took 1 1/2 weeks). Once it gets to Kingston, they have their medical specialist review the results (this took 3+ weeks>> I think mainly because of Christmas holidays). Passport was shipped back to us on a Wednesday. Hope these little tidbits help someone.

I'm looking forward to the rest of my life! I was never expecting to meet, fall in love and marry someone in Jamaica...it all just kind of "happened" but so glad that it did, it showed me that love really does not have any boundaries (hence the name ;) ) A very warm welcome to all the newbies and to all those still waiting, hold tight your time will come soon and you'll be like me now, running around to get things done! All the best to everyone, I will check back in again soon :-*

Ok question for the panel of experts lol I know when I do my income taxes this year, that I will have to claim married for last year but my hubby doesn't have an income so what will happen then? Can I use the SIN that he was given for the work permit they gave him while he was up here on refugee?
