For that last 8 years I've been paying my child support with no problems. my ex spouse called FRO ( Family Responsibility Office) on me in May 2012 after being late for a month. FRO sent me a letter in June 2012 stating that I am not to send my spouse any more payments. I spoke with them and was able to make arrangements and they would send me a payment schedule with bal. on arrears. That took 2 mos. I was at that point 3 mos. in arrears. I will be up to date with payments by Oct. This does not account for the 19 mos in proccessing time in which our application had not be completed ( when we applied the site states KIN was taking 16 mos to complete 80% of cases), unless they were waiting for my ex to report me to FRO so they can delay some more LOL.My Wife attended her interview in Mar. 2012 and was told all is good but need to redo med & pc. Did all that and to this day nothing. I called my MP who was no help, told to wait (stated that if we inquire too much we might not be put back in queue and that they are busy and that "they are human too") Ordered my GCMS time stamped July 24 2012 which eligibility-passed, med-passed, security & criminality- not done. My wife has lived in Jamaica all her life and has only traveled twice to the states. our case seems straight forward sponsoring my wife and her child ( father signed of on child and does not support child, I do, KIN 23 mos and counting in process how many more. Just a question since I have a family now wondering if I should be going to court to get a reduction on my child support payments?

Oh wow what a struggle you have gone thru, i would say yes you could ask for the reduction, they would make you do a financial statement that would show your finances are different now to say the least.

*chirp chirp chirp* Allo, allo...where is everyone today? Hope everyone is enjoying the day, whatever they have done with it!

Hey there Charlie, hows it going, getting used to the cooler temps yet. We've had a beautiful summer and start to fall out west. I remember working in Ont up in Kap this time of year and even as a cdn I found it cool. Once is gets colder and the lakes freeze over is got better but the humidity with cooler temps and a little breeze seemed to cut right through. Getting set up for snow, the Mrs says she can't wait. Got most of our firewood in for the winter and will likely put our deck stuff away in a week or so depending on the forecast. Then it'll be playing a little Wii, light a little fire and snuggle down for a few months and watch the snowfall. Come to think of it, maybe I'm looking forward to winter as well. ;) ;D ;) :P

Hahaha, canuck, you too bad! ;) I am actually enjoying the past week, temps have been hovering in the high 50's, low 60's and I go outside with my lunch and/or my textbooks, catch some rays while it is nice and sunny even if it is cool. Hubby is very proud of me now that I am not remarking on how "flippin cold" it is anymore but going outside whenever I can, bahahah! ;D He is looking forward to winter and keeps telling me all the wonderful things I have to look forward to, like my eyelashes sticking together when the wind is so heavy your eyes are tearing up!

Hi everyone...
So, we have decided to just go ahead with the PR app. It will take a little longer than the TRV (if we even got approved!), but then he will be here for good! In the meantime, I might be able to take another trip to Jamaica this winter! The sacrifices I make... ;)
Just a question regarding the Generic Application Form for Canada and the Additional Dependants Declaration... my husband lives with his mother and brother in Jamaica, and he is the only one working. Does anyone know if he should put them down as dependants on these forms? Or should he just include them on his Additional Family Info Form? Hope everyone had a good day. =)

do not put them down as dependants!!

and when it says if anyone else will be accompanying him to Canada say no.

there is one area wher it will ask to include brother and siseters: date/place of birth....even for half brothers and siseter,....that u must fill out...but DO NOT put them on as dependants!

Mawnin Fam Jam

TGIF!

@Kristy - Anada is correct, do not list them as dependents... just as other family members!

Ok Kingston, how bout pushin a couple thru today just so we know your alive!!

NNNNEEEEEEXXXXXTTTTT!!!!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I think that Kingston went on an extended vacation :'(
So quiet.. Not even a peep!

Morning and TGIF!

Kristy, as everyone else said, your husband's parent and siblings are not dependents. You can't list them that way anyways, dependents refers to single children still in school and dependent substantially on their parent and grandchildren in a spousal case. Your husband's mother and sister are additional family members, and there is no "accompanying" or "non-accompanying" about them, they are not sponsor-able in a spousal case.

Tis' the last Friday in September, next month KG has a holiday so they better work for it. NNNEEEXXXTTT!!!

FamJam,

How's it going? Besides the silence from Kingston..

Have a few questions that I know you can help me with..

I am in the process of preparing to move up to Canada (me and my 2 kids) until hubby's papers are complete. We feel its a good idea as it helps to provide intent to live there as well as I can get established and find a job so we both wont be looking in the end. Also he is working and can help while I'm not. SO here's what I want to know:

1. His police record and meds will expire end of November. As we haven't heard anything since, should we just redo medicals now and send? (then they would have a whole other year to procrastinate before they finish our file lol) I will also have to send his police clearance from the us as well when it arrives.. Maybe I should just send everything in one package.. Meds are expensive here!!! $400 + DHL $75 + plane ticket $170.00 :o not happy about that!

2. If he has to do an interview, (which I highly doubt but this is Kingston) do they have to do it in Kingston? We have a consulate here in the Bahamas that used to file the paperwork before. Wondering if they can do it there.

3. When I do move and find a stable job, he will come up to be with us and wait the rest out. Will they send his COPR there as we are visa exempt?

Thanks everyone!

And although it's Friday :-[ Have a great Weekend! Kingston do ya thing!

1. You can send everything once you have it all together, to save the expense. You don't need to wait on KG to request the med/PCC re-do. Remember that when you return to Canada you should send proof of your re-settlement to KG ASAP.
2. So far as I know, KG does all spousal interviews in KG. I strongly doubt your case will require an interview after several years of marriage and a couple of kids together.
3. Yes, they will send just the COPR to you after receiving a copy of his passport pages. You can "flagpole" by going to the nearest border crossing, or make an appointment at a local CIC office if one is nearby to do his landing.

KG usually calls for PPR. Interviews show up on eCAS generally before the applicant gets the convocation letter. They do not email information unless prompted.
