Hey suki! Welcome back and you couldn't tell me you were going to be in my part of the world? :P

I hope you hear something soon regarding the sponsor approval, the date is a moving target right now but hopefully it will soon stabilise and decrease to the 30 or so days it was earlier this year.

Irving, glad Mr Irving is settling in nicely! Enjoy every minute. :)

Happy Friday forum family and I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. I agree with Charlie, the weekend brings us 1 week closer to that wonderful call. Mrs P, I have been praying that you would make the decision to go visit the Mr and do him up proper. You can call it karma or whatever but many of us got the call right after we booked flights down, the Mrs got the PPR 5 days after I booked flights to visit so a few bucks later I re-arranged my flights and was delighted to book hers to return with me. Ah, I remember it like it was yesterday. The anxiety does fade quickly and is replaced with pure joy. I got a chuckle out of the feet Irving, the Mrs soaks hers once a week at least. She has scrubbed all her winter boats and cleaned her coat, toques and mittens and is actually praying that the clouds will bring snow. She has stacked a couple cords of firewood and loaded both fireplaces just waiting to flash them up with the first snow fall. Ah the memories of cuddling up in front of the fire bring back some pretty erotic thoughts. So for those that worry that they may not get along with thier spouses or that they cannot adapt to our climate and culture, please put those fears to rest. Going through the longggggggg wait and putting up with inept VO's helps make your comittment to one another so much stronger. So Mrs P, book those tickets and re-unite your family knowing this will be your last trip down there alone.
caio for now all

i found the paper needed but not sure of how to fill it out?? can u help; with that?

Kedeisha said:
morning LWU what letter are you talking about do you mean the form from the non acoompanying parent that needs to be completed saying they give permission for their child to migrate to Canada if so that can be found in the carribean region specific guide

You also need to submit custody arrangements showing that the spouse migrating with the kids have sole custody or the non migrating parent gives consent but as far as I know there is no letter that one writes just official legal binding document the government needs proof of

If that is not the letter please give a lil more idea of what the situation is

ok this is concerning me extremly. I was under the impression that all you needed was a letter from the mother stating she had given her permission and all of that, stamped by the JP with both parents signitures. This is what I've understood people have been doing in the past. There is NO mention of ANYTHING specific you need to do, or fill out in regards to this issue, on the immigration forms.

Calls from me and another friend of mine for the same issue to immigration had us told:

a) They will ask for it when they are ready for it, its not something they ask to be included in the immigration packaged, hence their being zero mention of it or zero forms regarding it. Remember your average person may not find a forum like this for help, so if it wasn't for hearing others experiences, none of us would know they even needed anything at all from the other parent.

b) previously until this new form came in they generally asked for it along with the passports. They accepted something from family custody court, or a letter stamped by the JP..or a lawyer. All of that was acceptable. Now they have this new form which you apparently fill out and get a JP to stamp.

Kedeisha this is the first I've heard of needing specific custody arrangements. In Jamaica this would take alot of money and lot of court time...and not everyone has those means so I can't imagine them suddenly making this a requirement when it wasn't before without making people extremly aware of it. And this wasn't the case for example when I filed my papers. So I'm very confused right now and thinking I need to call immigration again...sigh....I don't like this kinda of confusion on such an important issue. I wish they made this stuff a little more obviously clear!

SQ every child being migrated needs to have the consent of both parent so in my case i migrated 13 years ago n my mom gave my dad permission so it has always been in place but if anything they tighten up the rules especially with the whole "kidnapping" so it has always been in place so in ur case u will need a letter from ur daughter's biological mom notarized by a JP or your husband need to have sole custody and that means he is allowed to freely move with ur daughter if that was in the agreement

it is not something new it was always in place and remember my husband also has a child so this was something i researched before i got married HTH

Howdy, howdy, howdy! :P I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

Tomorrow is a new week, and marks the beginning of the end of September. There are some folks who really need a good word from KG come the new week, KG you know who they are! ;)

Happy Sunday, folks.

Hey everyone happy sunday to you Charlie, I hear Mr Golding is stepping down... Could be an interesting election.

Well the time has come for our meds to expire. I want to be proactive and do them before they request it if it at all posiblem is it possible? And if so, how do we go about it as far as photos etc?? Should we just go ahead ad do it from scratch?

Thanks! I hope next week is a productive one

Thanks RG.

He's stepping down? LOL, I don't pay any attention to politics in Jamaica. I pay my taxes, obey the laws and try not to be a bother to my neighbours. When this crop of politicians I was born and raised and came to see on the political scene my whole entire life leaves with their corruption and dirty dealings, and a new generation arises in Jamaica that is untainted by their lack of integrity, I will consider voting.

You may re-do your medicals without getting a re-do request from KG, yes. You would submit it with new pictures.

Thanks Charlie!!

Ahhh Kedeisha....we are actually on the same page...my slow self just didn't realize. I knew we needed the letter...although they say they will ask for it when they are ready which is usually when they call for the passports.

I just was picturing in my head...having to go to court to hammer out some custody thing and I was like...awww heck no!!

Sooo ya this makes sense. And I like that they have on specific form now...instead of a random letter. Makes it more official and fool proof. Because taking children to another country is a serious thing!
