Hi everyone,

I'm sure you guys won't remember me, but I posted a couple of questions in the summer, which you guys were so helpful with. Thank You!

Although I don't post much comments, I read this thread religiously. What can I say, it keeps me sane during my time of being "in process".

I just wanted to congratulate everyone (most recently Angella & Glo) that has made it through this process, as well as all the new pregnancies, and any other updates that has happened.

Jamy, wats up. No news from KG yet on things, was hoping you'd hear this week girl. Don't worry about the snow and cold, you'll have hubby to keep you warm. Your best friends will soon be the remote car starter, heated seats and a good heater in addition to the fireplace.

Hey Jamwifey,

I haven't heard anything from KG as yet. I was approved as a Sponsor in December 2009, and KG started processing my hubby's application in January. The only thing he received from them was a letter with his B# in February.

ECAS just says that they started processing on Jan. 25th

I sent them an email a few weeks ago and they responded in a week saying:

"The file is with the case officer for review and you will be contacted if we have any new instructions to pass on to you."

I'm not sure what to think of that

Congrats Angella... 8 months is more than anyone would want to wait but i am sure you are satisfied with having hubby back next week or so.... cant wait to read up on another reunion... very true about ending the week on a good note... my hubby also got called on Friday to pick up passport... makes for a great weekend! Welcome back again M.A.L... dont you just love the generic responses from KNG sarcasim!! If your hubby received a letter with a B# on it that means you have received your AOR which is good news - any news is good news. Next request should be for Document Request which would consist of Original Birth Paper and Original Marriage Certificate also any other proof you have such as more copy of pasport stamps, money orders, pictures etc for added proof of ongoing relationship since you sent off package. When did your hubby do the Medicals because they are only valid for 1 year from the date done. Hopefully they can get your file done before the medicals expire!

Also, was there any children on your file coming to Canada?

9 months and not hearing a peep out of KNG must be soooo frustrating. Have you though about ordering CAIPS notes?

Just keep the faith love....that's all you can do.

Kimore: selection is where they determine if your relationship is genuine or not. Not sure what review is.

Canuck: Id be pretty OK with snuggling up to hubby in any weather.

Boo: You have just over one week left to hear your big updates.

I am not looking for an update till November 14th cause thats the date I was given to submit the meds and docs by. I know it could be earlier but I dont wanna get my hopes up. I am just glad to be close to the end....*BIG SIGH*

@ KC - My husband did his meds and police check in July of 2009....I guess I can just look forward to him having to redo those.

He has no children, never left the island, and has never been married.

Q: Does anyone know if they test for ganja in the medical test?

Hi MAL... I remember now, you have a child but you are not sponsoring any children. And your case was similar to mine.

Yes, you will need to re-do the medicals for sure then... why they havent asked you to re do the meds yet is beyond me... they have had plenty of time to do that! They will most likely request a police check re do as well.

no, they DO not test for ganja.... they do a medical to make sure that the person is healthy and will not be a liability to our health care system at most. I am not totally 100% sure what grounds someone could be denied of regarding the medical tests such as if they were HIV positive or had Cancer (not sure about those ones), but I am sure they dont want to have a contageous desease such as TB or something similar... I believe that is what they are looking for more so...

Welcome MAL, the meds test for TB, HIV and Hep C. Mostly anything that may infect another person(s). No one has failed for ganja to my knowledge. Should let hubby know that many of the larger companies in Canada do Drug and Alcohol tests for pre-employment. Depending on the type of test the company chooses they can detect if someone has used up to 42 days.
