hello everyone many be new hear but this forum helped me in 2015. To me KVO is moving fast to be honest

Hi everyone,

Does anyone recall how long their permanent resident "Review of Eligibility" took?

Even if it's an approximation,
Thanks

So hubby had his interview this morning and was given his visa on the spot!!! ❤❤❤

He was in there about 5 min and the questions asked were...
Was your wife married before?
Were you ever in a common law relationship?
When was your wife divorced?
What is her ex-husband's name?
How many children does your wife have?
Has your wife been back to see you since the wedding trip?
The VO asked him our wedding date 2 separate times.
Then she said "I see that you and your wife have a genuine relationship so I'm going to give you your visa today. Enjoy and go see your baby being born". We're expecting our first baby together in May so the VO just made some small talk after that asking if we had a name for baby, etc.

This forum has been so helpful throughout this process and I've made some amazing lifelong friends (you know who you are )

My advice to anyone applying is to make sure your application package is filled with lots of details and lots of proof... know it inside out... you can never be too prepared. It's a stressful process for any couple but may love prevail for all of you going through this right now!!! ❤

Good afternoon all,

This forum is so helpful. I am about to begin my journey filing for my husband who lives in Jamaica. I have a question. I have noticed that people have updated there timelines saying "upfront for medical and police clearance". I wanted to know how we go about doing this so I can submit these papers with the original package. I notice on the new forms there is a section for that and wanted to submit that so I can speed up the process. I will be visiting Jamaica soon and wanted to have him complete it so that I can submit those 2 documents when I return as a complete package. He as attempted to complete this procedure by calling the medical, but was told by the medical office that certain papers (forms) or immigration has to request this before medical is completed.

Can anyone direct me or advise where we can go and do this medical prior.

The police clearance can be done at the police station and is good for a year. You have to call one of the doctors on the list for the medical.

Hey everyone ..it's been a minute ..hope everyone is doing well... my hubby landed last Wednesday.... It was a very smooth process... funny I was actually thinking how I'm going to have to wait in the long line with him since I'm so used to going to the machines.... But they told us to go right and it was smooth sailing... the office was very nice..tokd him he was very lucky to have such a beautiful wife lol ...anyhoo then we went into the next section. .he just asked if we were shipping anything ..and he also got his SIN number in the spot!! No problems at all..so good luck to everyone.. My prayers are with you all !!

Unfortunately, much to the frustration of many, (including me! :) ) with the new app, medicals cannot be done upfront. The doctors office does require the form before an appointment can be done. CIC will send you this form/request. The police record however can be completed in advance, I would advise sending a copy with your application, but be sure to keep the original for your records as you may be asked for it again at a later time. My understanding is you don't send it with the app, you will be asked to upload this to your linked online account.

Congrats! How is he enjoying life in canada? Did he land in Toronto? I was wondering about this process... i'm hoping to align things so I can fly back from Jamaica to be there when my husband lands, but I wasn't sure if I would be allowed in with him or if I would be ushered away and into the Canadian passport holder line. Did you just tell them at the start of the line that your husband was a new PR?

how long after you send in your passport to dhl and it give u a estimated time to come back to you that estimate always right are we of to wait for a month
