I do agree with you 100% I think it would be a lot easier on everyone. Especially because your spouse will be familiarly with where you live and get a sense of what it's going to be like living with you. See and that's the nice thing about my husband having been able to come here. He knows my environment, how I live , what I do from day to day, it's honestly nice and I wish more people could experience that, It just helps.
Absolutely! It just boggles my mind that they'll allow somebody to move here without ever experiencing the climate, the lifestyle, and even whether or not they can actually live with you for extended period of time… They don't even allow people to get to know each other, but yet they'll allow someone to come over after pretty much forcing someone to get married earlier than some people possibly would have, just so they can have the relationship together? I just think it makes more sense to put more regulations on temporary resident visas or visitors Visas so someone can get a true feeling for what they are coming to. Allow someone to expirience "life" together as a couple, just follow through and make people accountable. I have our kids here, all alone. My 7 month old has only met his dad once... It's so sad and wrong. He has no criminal record, and no medical conditions, no running history, and comes from a great family. I myself am a professional person, I have a good job I've had for 11 years now. Own my own home, car and maintain all this on my own. As he cannot support our family at this time. Yet they STILL won't allow him to visit?! And I paid twice to be denied. Sickens me. I had our baby over FaceTime. How would they like to be in that position?!

Spartabarbie that's so heartbreaking, terrible situation they left you in, heartless indeed, I'm so hopeful that they are getting ready to issue a pile of ppr's. How can they say they care about families when they let something like that happen?!

EXACTLY! but I guess they don't understand how hard it is being in a long distance marriage, People always say that couples that lives apart for this long are truly strong! So many people can't believe I've been doing this for 4 YEARS and I say that's nothing! There's been couples that have been together 7 + years! 4 years is long enough, couldn't imagine more time spent apart! Life is so short and you never know what could happen. Yes I couldn't imagine having a child and my husband not being able to be here with me :( So I really do sympathize with you hon.

Fr right!? I wish I could contact Trudeau personally, I'm not trying to say my situation is any more dire than anyone else, because we did plan this child knowing he wasn't here but that doesnt make it ok.... Or right. I'm struggling to make ends meat, keep our relationship going and be on maternity leave pay. It's so hard. I just don't understand and can't fathom other countries getting priority over anyone else. They should ALL be the same processing times, it's only fair! I hope everyone gets through soon, I know how I am struggling and how depressed I am day in and out. Also healing from the baby and having no help through the nights for the past 7 months takes a tole on anyone. Take care and fingers crossed for us all! ❤

What is really nice is having the support of you ladies and gentlemen, gives me some peace hearing others stories and knowing I'm not alone. Fingers crossed for some ppr's soon!!! Makes me so sad to not even know when it will happen. Even if I knew that, even if it was months away, just having an actual date would ease my mind.

Spartabarbiie you are not alone! I met my hubby up here when he was on a TRV unfortunately his visa expired and he went home when our daughter was 4 months. That was a little over a year ago. There were a couple hard months. Just keep focussing that each day you get a little closer to being reunited as a family. I know it is easier said than done but it the end it will all be worth it. I am so thankful for this forum and support of all of you as well...nobody I know personally understand this process so it is nice to have people to relate too.

I am presently here in Canada with my wife and is somewhat worried as my visa expires shortly. I know it is said that it'll be harder to get a TRV after spousal application is submitted but I kno for sure I'll try for the TRV again as we have not yet jumped the 1st hurdle in the spousal process.

I'll just encourage each and everyone to keep the faith and never give up..I knew my wife for yrs before she migrated at 20 yrs old... then we were young lovers and after 11yrs I was given the opportunity to be with her yet again and decided that ill never to let her go. Its a very hard process emotionally physically mentally but it's worth fighting for.

Try applying for an extension before it expires.

From what I understand it supposedly replacing the GCMS notes. I guess they're getting backlogged with requests and decided to implement a live application checking site. I think you will be able to see updates as the officers enter them. Sounds too good to be true so let's see what's happens

I heard something similar on a spousal sponsorship group on fb I am in. They were all saying it will probably be as good as GCMS notes.

I read the same thing. Fingers crossed. If I would have known sooner I wouldn't have ordered my notes again.
