We applied once before we got married and I'm not even gonna try now, once the application is in it's even harder to get. My husband wants a baby but I'm not budging until his ass is landed here safely, I have health issues as well I'm not even gonna bother appealing to them it's a waste of time they have no empathy, I understand why they don't open that door because once they do almost everyone will try to get their apps ahead of the line as well but they should be able to use common sense
I am actually shocked at the amount of people that get denied TRV'S from Kingston, it's just sad ....
I do agree, I think once they opened that door, it would push more applicant's file to the back creating longer wait times. Just hold the faith guys! It'll soon be over. ;D

We applied twice for a visitors visa in 2011 and 2012 and both times denied because the ties weren't strong enough. His son, who lives in Jamaica wasn't enough proof that he's going back. Now we're married years later and I can guarantee that if I apply they'll say the ties here are too strong now. You can't win, period. CIC doesn't realize the turmoil that families have to go through nor do they care. Very sad situations but yes, we all need to stay positive and hope for the best.

We are all going through it. I wish they would realize how hard it is on all of us. I just hope there will be some PPR's soon. On another note hubby got a call last week from the high commission for the appointment to go in for the DNA samples...the company we went through said it would take atleast 4-6 weeks for the VO to call....so somebody at Kingston is working they even called to remind him of the appointment lol...i just wish they would be that fast with PPRs and processing apps.

Yea, I didn't mean to rile everyone up over the trv's , I think at least it is positive news that at least we are getting case specific responses even if it's not the ones we want vs form letters... I would be curious to see if they actually ever granted trv's to anyone who had a spouse or relationship with someone in canada... I highly doubt it, they may as well put a sign on the door to say don't bother applying... Next money grab will be when we have to renew police check cause they can't process an application within the year.... Uhhhhhhgh.... At least seeing some ppr's already would give us some hope here... Sorry for the rant.

I think that would be a great FIPPA request to make to CIC specifically for KVO. I would love to know the stats of granted TRV's that have been granted to Jamaican nationals that are in a relationship with Canadian or being sponsored by one. I bet my money that the number will be low if any. Like my husband wants to visit and Im sponsoring him to come here, what's wrong with him coming on a TRV? What will he do, run away? Run away and void the possibility of being able to live here freely for the rest of his life with me? Common sense is surely lacking with most of these officers.

Well That's why I'm shocked! Because my husband was granted a TRV from KVO and was able to come here to visit me when we were just dating.

He probably had enough "assets" back in Jamaica to prove and satisfy them that he would go back... A big enough bank account, travel expirience or other visas to other countries.

I think it got granted because you were just dating. Most countries not just JA wont give TRV's to married couples because they don't want them to run off. It's dumb. It would make the process easier if he could come here and visit.

Me and my husband were just dating as well when we applied a few years ago and they denied twice. I think your background, where you live, what you do and what you own play a big part in it. I would love to apply for another now and see what they say. When I got my GCMS notes, they referenced that we applied twice for TRV'S and he was denied.

I agree that all plays a factor but i still think you are more likely to get a visa before you are married.

Yeah I definitely agree with that. I have yet to know anyone that has gotten a TRV that is in a relationship with a Jamaican. They even denied another lady on this forum when she submitted one for the father to be present for the child's birth. No heart.

I personally think it has nothing to do with weather the applicant is marred or in Relationship. Just solely on the applicant it's self.
My husband does have strong ties to Jamaica as Spartababiie pointed out - background, assets, and travel history. But I think they should make it easier to obtain a TRV for individuals, the amount of individuals being denied is ridiculous BUT at least now it's the real deal and all of you will be permanently with your spouse instead of temporarily ;D

Absolutely! And they would make the process a lot easier if we could wait for the permanent residency approval while that person was visiting with us at the same time… Just like someone is responsible for someone bringing their partner over to Canada for 36 months or more, it should be the same type a thing on a temporary resident visa ... The person bringing the partner over, should be held responsible for that person, maybe then they would actually really consider who they're bringing over as well... People would think harder and ensure that person won't "run" because they would be held liable in that instance too.

I do agree with you 100% I think it would be a lot easier on everyone. Especially because your spouse will be familiarly with where you live and get a sense of what it's going to be like living with you. See and that's the nice thing about my husband having been able to come here. He knows my environment, how I live , what I do from day to day, it's honestly nice and I wish more people could experience that, It just helps.
