Hi there!

I'm new to this forum and I have a question that you might be able to help me with... it might been answer before, but I didn't have time to read all the pages of the topic...

I'm sponsoring my husband and he did his medical in Sept. 2009 and they are now expired. I received the information from my MP that Kingston is not really processing any file before the 12th month (!!??? even if CIC website says other delays). We just passed the 8 months for our application. Should he wait for Kingston to invite him to redo his medical, or I can print the same form we used the fist time and have it done before they require it so its in the file when they'll process it? Will I have the same problem with the police clearance? Does that expire too?

Yes, the police certificate expires like the medical. Usually they request a new set of each when they are close to completing the application and granting PR. You may want to hold off until hearing from KG regarding re-doing them before actually doing so. However, I am new, so perhaps a more experienced poster has done as you wish to and renewed them before being requested to do so and can say how this worked out for them.

Redo of medicals ....Lets just say I have been there done that and also many people here have been in the same boat when it comes to medical redo...Kingston Jamaica will provide you with a new appendix forms ...and a new request for a police clearance when your file is completed ...When they are through with your background checks ...and other admissabilty checks ,...Unfortunatly with enough communication from kingston and my MP i have leaned that you cannot redo your medical until kingston Jamaica request the new one ..You will have to wait...You have no ther option ...I had to redo mines and alot of people on this forum have had to redo theirs and all of them had to wait for the forms in the mail for redos ...

Have to agree with the ladies above. Best to wait until KG contacts you......No matter how long that may be. What is your timeline like? I can add you to our little updates list.

There are many here who have gone thru or still going thru the process. Some get done in 4-5 months and some have longer waits like 12-16 months. You never know with KG. Well hope you hear something out of them soon.

re your meds redo... I would hold off until I get the forms from the VO. The redo forms are usually a different set of forms with your picture and file information on it that you must bring to the DMP.

I was also told by my DMP that redoing a new set of meds at your own freewill adds more time to processing because when POS receives those meds, there isn't any filing information on the package for them so they first need to assign a new filing number to the new meds and then they have to match the new med to your file which adds a lot more time to the processing. This doesn't stop one from doing it but be prepared to be faced with excess delay in processing. Oh, and sometimes it could lead to a complete waste on money. I too think that CIC is very particular about med redos especially when you do it without their consent.

However, on the redo form which they will send you will already have your information so when the CIC doctor opens the meds he/she will see that a file has already been assigned to the case.

Goodevening all you lovely people. Good news Angella on the pp dropoff. Now we both are waiting for that GREAT call. The waiting is making me crazy..lol
Glad to see they are still open. Hubby said over by him flooding and what not.
Its been 1 week since he dropped off. I am praying he can be home for Thanks Giving. One of my coworkers hubby got his call in 1 week but we all know how KG works or doesn't work :

Jamwifey26: As for my timeline, Medical were done on Sept. 11, 2009, Police clearance on Oct. 17, 2009. I've send the application to CIC on Dec. 7 2009, they accepted everything on Jan. 5, 2010, KG started to processing of the file on Jan 18, 2009 and he received his CSQ on Jan, 17, 2010. In february KG called him to have the police certificate corrected as they made a mistake on his middle name and after that, total silence. On July 18 I went to my MP and they answered him on Sept. 17 telling him that before the file reaches 12 months, they don't really look at it. So they schedule a second request for next january

Congrats Howmuchlonger & KC and all the ones having babies.. SOSO is soon...Good Luck to her and to all having or trying to have a baby!! I look forward to holding my grandbabies and giving them back....lol....Baby making is done for hubby & I. Lots of travelling in our future instead .

Angella...congrats too on the call...nice to see movement again with KG, we all need to be done and make room for the new files. I really pray that I am done and have my family home for christmas..but either way we will be together and that is what I hold onto in my thoughts right now.

Hubby is having a hard time of it right now...first the re-schedule of his interview and now with this tropical storm Nicole he has been without power for 2 days and he is losing all his stuff from the frig and his cell is on its last legs ...so we have very little contact now, I am going crazy not being able to have our chats for hours these past few days...I just pray it is soon over for them. It just seems like one thing after another down there...I can't wait for all of this stress and worry to be over!

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone dealing with NICOLE in Jamaica!!
