I'm not quite sure I've seen some people say 4-5 months, there are different steps but I think after they've had a for 2-3 months you should order your GCMS notes, it can show you whether or not an interview has been waived, etc etc
Hm, ok thank you! Guess I'll wait till June then. ;D

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I've been reading through stories all the way from 2010! Lol.
I started this journey in February, and have been hiding away following up on your journeys everyday!
Figured it was time I stop hiding :)

Here's my very short timeline:

Application filed : February 1, 2016
Application received : February 2, 2016
AOR received : March 10, 2016
SA & file transfer : March 17, 2016
Ecas changed from "Application Received" to "In Process" on March 26** I think
KGN started processing application on : March 30, 2016.

That's it for now, it'll be nice talking and getting to know some of you more.

;D
Welcome!! :)

Welcome!

Once Kingston started processing my application, ecas hasn't changed ( almost 4 months) and I'm told it generally won't change until they ask for the passport. Don't drive yourself too nutty checking it constantly cause they don't update it well. Keep an eye on the forum, you get a better sense of how things are progressing when you see folks who applied before you getting through. If the vo has questions or needs additional stuff for your application they will likely contact you directly.

Thank you for your response. I know I check it everyday even though I know I won't see a change. I checked it today though and was happy to see that Kingston started processing 2 weeks after the file was transferred. Not sure how long it usually takes for that once Kingston gets it. But hopefully the process moves very fast for all of us !

I sent my application to wifey on March 31st and she received it yesterday April 1st.. Now it's her turn to put the application together to send it off. Really appreciate the reduction in sponsorship assessment. The 17 months timeline needs to now go down to 6 months tops.

Honestly! By time she gets it sent out within a month if not less she should get an approval.
& you're right, hopefully the whole process deceases significantly to speed this up!

We are all hoping for that. But more than likely we will get through around or before a year and we should be thankful for that. Every app is different. Just keep checking here and the spreadsheet for info on processing times.

Thankful, ofcourse! Even with long processes you have to be thankful for the opportunity and in the end it'll all be worth it, so.

Just a quick question, I plan to quit my current job and spend the summer with hubby, is this going to be an issue with immigration? I won't be applying for OW or disability (even though I qualified for it) would me quitting be an issue and do I need to report this to them ?

No this won't be an issue. As long as you are not receiving OW or disability. They might ask how you plan to support yourself and hubby but there is no minimum income for spousal sponsorship. I am currently a stay at home mom. But my hubby has a job offer in the app and we have family help. We put this all in to prove that we wouldn't need OW.

I am allowed to receive diasabilty just not OW but my condition is in remission right now so I don't need it, someone was telling me there's been instances of them contacting employers so just wanted to make sure. Do I need to update them of this change tho since originally I had employment when I apply ? Just wanna make sure that I'm doing things to the book.

I personally would let them know. Are you planning on staying down there to the papers are in? If so then you would have to change your address as well. You can live out of country as long as you plan on returning once you get approved. You just need to prove to them that these are your intentions. I spent 2.5 months there last summer it was fantastic. If you can afford it do it.

No just July through early September I have to be back for my children to start school, I've already been approved his file was transferred in Jan from the timeline and if everything continues to go smoothly we expect him to be here by September (very latest October) it would be lovely if maybe he Come back with me (wishful thinking lol)
