Has anyone's husband been in a different country when they got their PPR? If so were they able to send in their passport from that country and have it returned there?

been married since Sept 2013. Finally getting around to filing my income tax return.
his income
for the years 2013 - o income
2014 o income
2015 - he started employment June

what do I need to get from him. He lives in JAmaica. A friend is doing to this for me, wonder if I need to see a professional.

I do taxes for a living. You will need his total income for 2015 and have it converted to Canadian dollars as of Dec 31/15. And report that number on your income taxes. In addition, there is a box you need to click saying he is a non resident. You can only claim your husband and receive the spousal credit if you support him financially.

You can claim line 303 of your tax return less his income, if you supported him. When i called CRA, they couldnt give a dollar amount that would be considered supporting him. All they said is if the amount with be considered a living comfortable in the country they live. They may ask for receipt from money transfers or paid bills if you are audited

Not sure about that but mine said in queue for interview when I ordered them after Kingston had my file for almost 4 months. We received our notice for interview a month after that.
