Hi ladies.

So a month ago I had asked my MP's office to look into our file.

Today I finally heard that they got an awnser. They said that his medicals are good and Kingston has put him in cue for an interview. I asked her if she thought this meant they were determining if he needed an interview or if he was for sure going to get one. She said she thought he would be getting one but wasn't sure.

So does anyone know about the spouses that get interviews, how much notice do they get? Should they bring additional proof of relationship with them, do they bring their passport?

On time I heard that they bring their passport and if they pass their visa is issued. Is this correct?

I wish his interview was waived.. Mostly because I think its 4-5 hours travel to Kingston and I worry about the intensity of those questions. I feel like he knows the answers but if they aren't kind to him he may get defensive. I wish that I could be interviewed as well or with him.

I am also worried that they won't call or notify me and will just mail him a date and time. He of course doesn't have a mailbox at his house so I've told him he HAS to go at least a few times a week and check the mail. I will ask his mom to do the same..

Any info you ladies have would be great!

Gm guys,
Just a quick question here...Can medical exam be done if dependent child does not have a valid passport?

Thanks in advance
Hi Stuntxd9, as far as I know the child must have a valid passport in order for the medical exam to be done. My hubby and I were required to get a passport for my stepson before we could have his medical done.

no you must have a passport to show them at the doctors .. I just went through this exact issue with my husband .. 2 years ago you could have but they changed the rules ... Good thing you can get the passport back in 8 business days it costs a little extra but was still very cheap ...even though my husbands daughter was not coming to canada with him we still needed the passport to have her examined .. She also had to have pictures taken and brought those to the medical ... You can also call
The doctor office where you are going to have the medically done to be sure

The child's mother refuses to even take calls from my husband and doesn't allow him to see his son. The only time that he hears from her is in an emergency or when she needs money. He even asked me to message her or try to call her and I did. I text her and every response that I got was about my husband and nothing to do with the kid. I was able to convert those texts into PDF document and I will submit that with the affidavit. I offered to pay for it and the child's passport as he needs one to get it done. Straight out she doesn't like me because I'm white and her son's father married me. It's been 5 years on Monday since their relationship is over and she cannot accept to see him moving on to better things. Crab in a barrel mentality. She recently went to the US on a work program for a few months without any consent or medical being signed for by my husband so how now is she holding all the authority over my life??

I'm just fed up and thank you for the insight. If you can suggest anything else that I can add in while I still have the chance and my application hasn't been submitted, please let me know
I know I hear you I had the same issues wirh my husbands babymother unfortunately there so difficult to deal with .. I would sugguest then you write a very detailed letter and explain it all .. If she won't cooperate then there isn't much you can do .. Some of these Jamaican women are so fuc**d , what kind of parent wouldn't want there child to be included on the application so they can one day have a better future ... It may also help if you call the Cic call centre and explain the situation and see what they recommend ... I know personally anything I wasn't able to provide I just had a explanation note attached to the application and mine went good , no problems

this is the same response we all get from our MP.... @susan Richards ... Originally my husband had 2 daughters , the one mother was difficult but eventually cooperated and the one who was giving a lot of problems wouldn't go to the birth certificate place to have my husbands name added into the birth certificate so we ended up having to do DNa to get his name added in order for him to get a passport for her and a medical .. Well after the results came back we learned his oldest daughter wasn't his .. And he took care of her for 14 years so sometimes if the baby mother won't cooperate you should ask yourself whether or not they are hiding something .

good evening or good night whenever this post is seen.

i've been reading through some of the posts and you ladies are inspiring. This journey is not for the faint of heart, it's not for the weak. whenever i get a chance i try to keep up with posts and decidedn i would finally post.

my husband and i just recently got married two weeks ago and we are about to start the filling process. were ready to be living in the same place. the back and forth is costly and quite frankly no way to live. in all we've been together a year and a half

my question is would you ladies recommend that i do the applications myself or should i hire a service to assist me with this?

and any further recommendations would be greatly appreciated

my husband did not get a interview it was waived ... Feb 20-15 Kingston begun to process our application and my husbands passport was just picked up today at DHL.. It took them almost 4 weeks to return his passport .. So it took approx 7 months for Kingston to process it plus 3 months for Mississauga to approve to me to sponsor .. I had my application very organized and I used table of contents and post it tabs on the sides to show what was what and make it easier for them vs just sending in everything in one big envelope .. Now my husbands police check expired mid August and they didn't ask him to summit another one .. And aprox 3 weeks before we got the passport request I emailed Kingston regarding his medical that was about to expire and they told me not to and they gave me another year extension. I would sugguest anyone who is applying for spousal sponsorship Outland to do the medicals and police check upfront and also pay the Right to permanent resident fee.... I also selected for them to return my application of it wasn't approved rather then have them proceed anyways ... Reason I did this is because it's faster to reapply and fix a mistake if you made one then it is to wait for a appeal date as those can take years

oh ok if your able to provide proof that she wouldn't cooperate or even include those texts with a explanation letter then I'm sure you will be ok .. I know for a fact Kingston deals with these type of issues often because a lot of Jamaican women are so spiteful and will do anything in there power to make it difficult .. How old is the child ?? Also is your husbands name on the birth certificate ?

Some files were sent to Trinidad because of a back log.

You can see peoples timelines of when people got thru by clicking the link in my signature line. Everyone is tracked the same (when you filed, when you got SA , etc)

Please be assured that Citizenship and Immigration Canada reviews all applications objectively and consistently to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all applicants. We assess each application on its own merit against the program requirements.

We realize that those who have submitted their applications look forward to a decision being rendered within a reasonable waiting period after applying. We make every effort to deal with the applications we receive in the most efficient and effective way. However, the many steps involved in processing an application, coupled with the volume of applications, sometimes make it difficult to conclude cases in as timely a manner as we would like.

Our records confirm that your undertaking was approved and that your husband's application is being processed at the Canadian visa office in Kingston. Please rest assured that you or your husband will be contacted should additional information or documentation be required.

Current statistics based on historical processing data indicate that officers in Kingston are finalizing 80% of applications in this category in approximately 23 months from the date of receipt of the completed application.
