Happy to say hubby picked up the package yesterday from DHL and there it was his visa in passport, original birth certificate, original marriage certificate, original of our pictures and a few other letters. No one from immigration contacted him so I believe this is his confirmation

Hang in there everyone!

I am no expert but based on my experience- We were told to send the passport to Kingston at the end of March and pay for the return postage from Kingston. We did that and Hubby picked up the package yesterday at the DHL office. Did they ask to pay the return postage as well?

Yes they did ask for return postage! Wow I am just so excited this has happened way faster than I ever dreamed it would. I am in shock! I have so many things to do to get prepared! :)

on the form which i should put date is it ok the put month and year only?

Wow lots of action taking place on here that's good to know congrats to all

Any ways I requested some advice on here earlier on about the rcmp and am not sure if any one replied, but good news so far I received the rcmp result all is clear n my husband mailed off that result to pos so am praying that when they receive the result next Tuesday they will request pp after that

Congrats to all with good news and the rest that's waiting like myself my advice is please pray for patients and good luck to us all

Hi MelJam,

so I followed your advice and I emailed POS at the address that you gave me yesterday. They responded back to me within a few hours. I was very impressed.

They told me to proceed and to get our PC redone because it would be required and to send it in as soon as we get it back.

Thank you!

When I sent my application to Mississauga the box weighed 13lbs.....I included everything, phone logs, bbm chats, facebook chats, letters from our families, photos, colour photos of the pages in my passport showing all of my trips along with all of the boarding passes, hotel reservations, day trips, movies tickets, Skype logs, originals of marriage certs, birth certs, divorce certs, cards that our families had exchanged, etc. I organized it into different envelopes, labeled each of them, did up a title page that explained the contents of each envelope. In the actual applications, when I was completing them - where it said attach additional pages if required, I didn't try to fit my answer into their sheet - I typed the entire story of our relationship on a separate piece of paper.

When I ordered my notes after hubby landed - I read that Mississauga put on a note that they shredded a bunch of stuff and only sent samples for shipping purposes. If I had to do it all over again, I would send exactly the same amount of stuff.....if they don't need it, they can destroy it.....but that's how I am, not saying that it helped, but hubby was here in less than a year, so it certainly didn't hurt!

Now the application is sitting in our bedroom closet, still in the DHL package that it was returned in when his passport was returned with his shiny VISA! I look at it everyone in a while as a reminder of what we went through to get to where we are today!

During the Medical is a drug test done?

Nope

Hey Jamfam! It's been a while.

Showing up to get some news. Applications seem to be processed way faster than before, what a blessing for you guys ;D Congrats to everyone, if they didn't contact you yet it shouldn't be too long.

Hubby and I are doing great! He's adjusting very well but he can't wait for summertime 8) Got here when it was cold and springtime taking it's sweet time to show up.

PinkyM, don't want to argue with you, but some people were refused after being tested positive. See this conversation « Reply #35852 on: July 27, 2013, 01:22:25 pm » , on this tread.
My husband wasn't smoking so I didn't really care, but if he would I would ask him to take a break because THC traces can stick in the blather for six months... There are stuff sold to clean the system but I don't know about that. Since we want our spouses home badly there are no chances to take, that's only my two cents.

Have a great week-end everyone!

Does an exclusion order slow down the processing? my husband said he had a dream he came back to Canada early I wish it was true ... but with a year eexclusion order they probably won't issue a visa until it is over... I'm missing him like crazy waiting for him to come back to his family my kids miss him so much :(

Yes they do....blood test (cocaine, heroine...ect... enzymes on harddrugs) and urine analyze (weed, tabac). They do all the tests including drugs. But as I am working in insurance and deal with bloodtest and urine analyze every day. I can tell you that if you man smoke weed tell him to stop for 3 weeks and no trace will be found. But for blood profile...the cocaine and stuff....they could find enzymes even 10 years after using.
