Did they give you any reason why the notes were a month late? I request mine and they are due today. I know a lot of people are complianing of delays but the Act is VERY specific that they are to respond within 30 days - even if it is just to indicate they need an extension. Since they rely on their policies when we ask for information or assistance I plan on forcing them to also rely on their own such policies!!

They did not contact me I contacted them September 21st and asked why they said they have people working overtime and there is a big backlog and to expect them soon as she was moving me to priority list. I contacted again sept 29th which they said same thing and she would have them done by Monday 6th. I got them today.

UUGGGHHHH!! This whole process makes me INSANE! How can notes be that delayed especially considering seem to be computer generated! Pathetic enough that it takes 30 days to get to us and the information is already 30 days old! ssssiiggghhh...

Good Morning JamFam!

I looked on the CIC website and it states:

There are two ways you can have an immigration medical exam, depending on your immigration category
► Wait for instructions once you have submitted your application
► Undergo your exam before you submit your application (Only for certain Family Class applicants)
► Fees
▼ Validity
Your medical exam results are valid for 12 months only. If you do not come to Canada as a permanent resident within that time, you may need to have another exam.

When I read the below link it looks like it is up to the VO to ask for an extension and this can only be done before the 15 month mark (i.e. expires at 12 months but they have 3 more months past this date to actually request the extension). This extension is asked for (and usually given) when the application is nearing the end of processing and it will only be the medical that holds up the end of the file. If the meds are extended then they are good for another year.

Hope this helps. The link has a lot of good information and shows how the VO and Medical Examiner determine what to do. Having said all this we all know that KGN does not necessarily work the way the should.

Exactly what I found also lately that is why I wait after I come back from vacation to order notes again and see if they finally extended it.

I agree and it seems mine were generated on Aug 8th ... So I've waited 2 months for notes that I guess are now 2 months old...

I ordered my notes on Aug. 8th and received it on Sept. 10 via email as requested....did you specify to get it via email?

Yes I did. I also reordered them so we will see if there late again this time. I'm not bothered so much by the notes being late I'm much more upset about the fact that my file has been sitting there as "in process" since April and no movement since

FYI....Chickie72 and Nev were in process for almost a year before anything happened on their files. I am not trying to be a downer or anything but it does happen. I don't think that it is right by any means. Maybe try emailing your MP and see if they can find out anymore information

Also - remember that not all the VO's update the notes. I know that Nev's showed NOTHING was done and then BAMM...PPR!

Yes all is paid and everything submitted. We haven't been asked for anything else . our PC is good until February 2015 too. I've just emailed Kingston asking for info but I doubt we will get a response we never do.

As for updates we have plenty of updates for beforejune just nothing at all since and still same vo. Our assigned to vo and assigned by vo are also the same I'd. Which I find odd as if the vo assigned our file to themselves... Which makes me think it may be some form of supervisor or someone with higher authority who has our file as they were able to assign it. Maybe I'm just overvthinking things BC I'm frustrated tho..

@ Sh and Sh... I am glad that you were able to contact an immigration lawyer...
I would suggest contacting ( or just shoeing up ) at the medical office, to explain that this is a 'update- re- do'... For a ' non- accompanying child'... I am hoping that they will give you a chance to re- do it

Re: Writing KNG a letter in regards to 'mother's lack of cooperation to do child's passport '... I think this a good thing, but I would suggest that the process for getting the PP is started anyway, because it will be needed sooner or later, and will be easier for your hubby to oversee while he is still in JA

Re: whether or not it is necessary to have ' non- accompanying' child update medical ... In my situation I had sent them e- mails to verify if it is needed ( because child was not coming now).... They never responded, I updated it anyway, because I heard it can delay your application ( incomplete)...
