Hi!! sh n sh yes this really is a huge problem, first of all the mother with no BC needs to go by the main register General n pay for a search n first of all go there n ask how to go about getting started if she jump on it right away then that part can be solved n stay on them, for the daughter part am not sure how to advise for the name change with his daughter not having same last name as her dad, didnt your hubby knew of the name change before he put her on file? That's gonna be hard to solve and you guys come so far to have the file a mess or refusal, get on it asap guys start asking questions till you get answers

Good evening everyone, congrats to everyone who has heard some good news from Kingston or POS. Responding to the post from Impatientgirl, if your husband's name is not on his daughter's birth certificate he will need to do a "Deed Poll". He will need to go the Registar General Department or check online for the application forms.

Hello all-

I just spoke to some one who is an immigration lawyer and they said that I shouldn't get a deed poll done as it could cause the application to be refused for misrepresentation. So we may have to write letters stating that the mother is non compliant for the child to do the medical.

Does anyone know if it is POSSIBLE for a non- accompanying chil to do a medical with just a birth certificate?
This is what we did for the medical last summer and they did the medical. Now they are saying they must have a passport. The child has a IMU number and is already in the emedical system.

It should be valid for 12 months, hubby did it on Sept. 23 2013 and on the notes I received, it was specified valid until Sept. 30 2014 . So presently it expired but I tried to request an extension before it expired in August and I never received any answer. In your case, it expired from July 2014 so I really don't know if you can request an extension since it is already expired. But you should write to KGN maybe they could do it but my feelings is that they wont extend it because they would have done it before and never requested it...your hubby should proceed and redo it to save time...

Medicals are actually good for 15 months as per the CIC website...however it is up to the VO if they want to extend them or ask for a redo after the 12 month period. Are these the kids medicals or the hubby's. If they are the kids maybe they will extend them because they are not coming up with the hubby. You can always email them and find out if they will extend them.

I looked on the CIC website and it states:

There are two ways you can have an immigration medical exam, depending on your immigration category
► Wait for instructions once you have submitted your application
► Undergo your exam before you submit your application (Only for certain Family Class applicants)
► Fees
▼ Validity
Your medical exam results are valid for 12 months only. If you do not come to Canada as a permanent resident within that time, you may need to have another exam.

When I read the below link it looks like it is up to the VO to ask for an extension and this can only be done before the 15 month mark (i.e. expires at 12 months but they have 3 more months past this date to actually request the extension). This extension is asked for (and usually given) when the application is nearing the end of processing and it will only be the medical that holds up the end of the file. If the meds are extended then they are good for another year.

Hope this helps. The link has a lot of good information and shows how the VO and Medical Examiner determine what to do. Having said all this we all know that KGN does not necessarily work the way the should.

Are you certain that they asked for the non accompanying children to redo their medicals as well or possibly just your husband? Seems like a waste of time and money considering they are not coming and IMO their first medicals should be sufficient for THEM since they are not coming to Canada. Have you ordered your notes? My husband's meds show under status "not started" yet his son's who is a non accompanying and that I sent in months after the application went in shows "Passed" and also says "no health impairment sufficient to prevent admission..." Have you tried calling CIC Ottawa to ask if a second medical is required for non accompanying??

See my earlier post bc it would seem that as of Oct 7/14 their window to request an extension may have passed, but not sure why they wouldn't ask for the extension?? The link in my other post has a flow chart maybe you can make some sense of it to relate to your file.

Good morning jamfam!
I just received my notes that I requested Aug 8th! This is the first time I get the permanent resident notes the last ones were the shorter sponsorship notes. Anyways I am now very frustrated! Nothing has been touched since June 10th 2014! 4 months!! And nothing? I don't get it we've been in process since April 15th 2014 and everything's been sent in. The criminality is still in progress and security still not started! Due date has not changed it still says July 30th 2014.... I know everyone else is just as impatient as we are, I'm just frustrated that there's been no movement at all. they requested the criminality check from RCMP in April how can that take so long? Anyone have any insight? Is there anything else on these notes I should be looking for? 45 pages of no idea what I'm looking at.

Ok rant over... Let's hope we get some more movement and pprs before this weeks over the last 2weeks were going so we'll we need our spouses home come on Kingston and pos we need some pprs in here!
