May the Lord bless you on your new journey!
Thank you soooo much Kadi!

My goodness.....i missed alot while i was gone LOL Congrats to everyone who has heard news! Kadi I will keep your son in my prayers for a full recovery and I pray you hear from Kingston soon so you can have hubby around to help you out! WOW one week has come and gone and we are most definitely not settled yet but the kids start school tomorrow so they are excited about that. I have not been able to stop for a week with everything we had to do and working and other family obligations, life has just been a whirlwind of emotions, stress and happiness! I am glad hubby is here though but I will never lose weight if he just keeps cooking all this Jamaican food for me. Keep the faith everyone, believe me when i say all the stress of the immigration process will be forgotten once your family is here with you in Canada. Kingston is just a distant memory to us now! I think i have the spreadsheet updated so let me know if I missed anything. Just pm me if I did and I will fix it. Thanks and blessings.

Hello good evening !! I need help from peoples from Québec...do I have to send myself the CSQ to KGN or they will request it if it is necessary? Some peoples says to send the copy 3 - Immigration even if they dont request it. But I know 2 peoples from Québec who did not send it, and they never had to send it to KGN to complete the process...so now I dont know what to do! Please advise! Thanks!

Hi MelJam,

I sent an email to Kingston few month ago to make sure that they received my hubby's application, medical and PC and to ask if we had to send his CSQ or redo something. It took them forever to answer but that's what they've responded:

App: F*********

Dear cafelatte02,

Thank you for your email.

This Family Class application was received in Kingston on 19 April 2013.

Your personal information provided has been noted. You may also send the Quebec acceptance and Quebec selection certificate for Mr. cafelatte02 to be added to the supporting documents for his application.

The application is currently in the queue for initial review. It will be reviewed in accordance with its place in the queue for applicants in this category, based on the application received date. Following the initial review, the applicant will be advised directly of the decision or any next steps.

Processing times for these applications are calculated from the date the application is received by the Kingston visa office. The times to first review, interview (if required), and finalization may vary depending on the number of new applications received and the individual complexity of each application. Applicants may also refer to our website, www.jamaica.gc.ca, for more information about processing times.

We continue to work hard to make our processing of Family Class applications as efficient as possible, while at the same time bearing in mind the capacity of our settlement community to support and assist newcomers with their transition toward making Canada their home.

We did send it to them, no news since... Hubby dreamed he got THE CALL last week and I can feel it coming too, only it's not coming fast enough :P I made him redo his PC to be ready when they request it and to avoid any further delay. I have also ordered the GCMS notes hoping we will see some progress in them.

We keep the faith, we remain positive, strong and face every challenge together.
Our love grow daily. We will celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary in June, our 5th year as a couple in September and I know we'll be together in 2014. It's just a matter of time ;)

Hello everyone. A quick update. Mr brown landed safe and sound at 8:29 pm last night. Kids and I greeted him about an hour later armed with homemade signs, flags and balloons. He said immigration part took about half an hour. He refused the winter jacket I brought bc he wanted to "feel the cold". It was +2! We stopped quickly for some food and headed home. He stopped to take a pic with some snow. Everyone fell asleep easily. But now I lay here and I can't believe he is next to me.

I think it may take a week or so to process this all.

To those of you feeling beaten down and lonely I say. Hold the faith. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel. No one else truly understands the heartache of such long and painful separation. But your time will come.

I know we have months of adjustment together. But I feel like after the year we've just been through we can get through anything. Am looking forwArd to everything including grocery shopping and cleaning together. My children are over the moon.

Now... Kingston please keep up this momentum. And don't forget those early 2013 ppl it appears u have skipped over.

Much love to you all

Mrs brown.

WELCOME TO CANADA MR BROWN!!!!!!! You must be SO happy to finally have your hubby home Mrs Brown ;D
Enjoy every second my dear, what we have to go through is difficult, when we reach our ultimate goal we truly deserve it :-*

Got a couple of question for some of our people who were in the run for the long haul.

1) How often did you send in additional support of your relationship ie. telephone bills, boarding passes and such? And is it necessary.

2) Once the visa is issued how long is it good for before they come? Meaning, is there an expiry date they must land by?

Answer:

1) It is necessary. It shows that whomever is in Canada is serious about the relationship. We provided about 3 years of support for our relationship. That included, spousal support ($$$ I sent), telephone bills, flights (of me going to visit etc for the last 3 years), all emails for last 3 years of our conversations, yahoo chats, Facebook updates, etc. After when the sponsorship papers were filed, we opened up an account at dropbox.com and provided login information to Kingston. We uploaded any future updates to dropbox.com after the papers were submitted. We never sent anything via mail. Additionally, we also used our MP for assistance to getting documents to kingston faster as required.

2) The visa that is issued to your spouse once u get a PPR has about a 3 month expiry. The spouse has to land in Canada within those 3 months. If they do not, it expires. If your spouse can't arrive in Canada in 3 months time before the visa expires, you have to notify kingston in writing and give a reason for the delay.

Hi everyone,

We just received an email from our lawyer and its confirmation that our application was received. Its an automated message from CIC and it contained a UCI number and Application number. we tried to login to check "status" (not like we were hoping to see decision made or anything ) but just out of curiosity. Unfortunately we were unable to login (after x amount of attempts) using both numbers. here is the order we were prompt with on the link from the email we recieved to check the status: On the page we selec

Questions:

Is this email the AOR or receipt of application?

When logging in to check application status, whose information are used? Sponsor or Principal applicant?

The Sponsor's information, so the one who filed the paperwork to sponsor.
