Doesn't look like much people will be going home for Xmas this year they are moving so slow. This is beyond ridiculous how long the early 2012 applicants been waiting. This has been a long 1 year ban for us I don't think he will be home for Xmas.

Good morning everyone. Come on Kingston Let's here the roar of PPR's this week!

Nev my suggestion is that no information is too much as far as immigration is concerned. They will already know his history and he should be forthright about everything that has happened. I would suggest it as part of his cover letter yes. When hubby and I did our cover letter, we explained why and how his refugee process happened because even though we knew they would know, we wanted to be completely honest about it and explain his side.
Thanks Chickie poo! :-*

I tend to agree with you; however, if KG calls this week for passports and returns them within two weeks there still could be some Christmas miracles!!!! :D

It's been a long almost two years for some of us....for no apparent reason. *sigh*

Keep praying O&O -- anything is possible!!!! :D

I'm considering him to apply for a us visa just to see what happens. 1 year ban shouldn't gwan like this when they didn't ask for an arc and the ban ended. I'm getting miserable each day being apart.

Sooo.... my husband has big dreams. Which I love and refuse to squash, but I do ensure that I bring forward the veil of reality so that he doesn't become disappointed, then look to me and wonder why I betrayed him by not informing him of the facts. Initially, his view was that he would come here, have a great job within a week or two, and all our money problems would disappear. That he would buy a car with his first paycheck and I will not have to do anything and he will take care of me. Also, after a year or so, we will open a business (because we have made like millions of dollars by then) and we will be instantly rich and worry free because our business will be instantly successful... you know, because of all the money we have made in his first year and a half being here. Oh, and also, we will not mortgage. We will save up to buy the house outright in cash (which we will be able to do because of our super successful business). Also, like I have previously mentioned... no boots... just sneakers or clarks...
Now, this all being said, this was his INITIAL view of coming to Canada. My hubby owns his home outright in Jamaica, so it's going to be different for him. But he has come around to being more realistic and has conceded that the best way for him to understand, is to be here. But he will take my word for it... Maybe one day we will open a business, or be rich, or whatever... but for now, we're keeping our feet planted firmly on the ground so that nobody floats away and gets lost... :) :) :)
I like your hubby's way of thinking!!!

He can open his successful business and hire all of our hubby's!!!

I know it's hard but keep the faith!!! Your application is 'in process' so you know something is happening with it and it's not just sitting around collecting dust!!!! Hold on just a little while longer...

In process doesn't mean much they could of just started looking at it. Pretty soon I will have to redo the meds if they continue to work like turtles. I know we should of just applied inland ugh. Something needs to be done with this office seriously 8 months max it should take to process an app. Poor innocent people wait 22 months for this visa office to get off their sweet bs a$$ to work. Gets me mad each day I see early 2012 ppl still waiting.

Did anyone else notice that the processing time just changed from 20 months to 22 months? :-[

Gosh, I don't know how you 2012's have done this and waited as long as you have...I don't get to Skype/Facetime hubby because of his location he doesn't have Wifi. I'm feeling defeated and it's only just begun - We both want to start our lives together, and right now we both really want to start a family, and yet I feel like we can't do that because I A) I don't want him to miss everything B) I don't want to have to do it alone when I have a loving husband just aching to be here to experience it with me - I know some of you have children, can some of you share what it's been like for you?

WOF, I know this hasn't been easy for your precious daughter - I do hope she is doing much better...has it been the entire 11 years LD for your family?

Good morning!!!

As mentioned from Ninirae I wouldn't change anything about haveibh my baby girl except that my husband was here. He's missed her birth, her first 2 months, her sitting for the first time, rolling over an a few other things. It is like being a single parent because he's not here. Only good thing is that we here in Canada get the 52 weeks mat leave so we can go down to JA for a few months. However it's not easy being down there with a newborn. I will be honest about that. But my husband got to spend 2 months with her and we are praying to Jah that he will be home to us soon so he doesn't miss out on much more

My advise is to wait till your husband is home however if you are up there in age....like myself...then I wouldn't wait. I'm gald we didn't wait. This might have been my only chance. Our daughter is the first child for either of us and yes this makes it harder but again I wouldn't change anything.

Now onto waiting g the 22 months. To me that is harder knowing that time can change to a few months or even longer. Thank god for Skype, phone calls and text messages.

Good Morning Everyone. I hope we hear some good news this week! Even if we don't all get our hubbies home for Christmas it would be nice to hear something or have some movement by then. That would be a nice enough present for me. I just want to know something is happening and that their is hope that this wait could be over soon.

Another reason why I am hoping that we hear something sooner than later... I'M PREGNANT!! My husband and I are very excited. I am only 15 weeks, due in May. So even though my husband and I do not have children together, this will be our first one, I thought I would put my two cents in on what it's been like so far. My husband and I are desperately hoping that he will be here by May before the baby is born. May would be 18 months since our application got to Kingston, so I don't feel that it is totally unreasonable but with Kingston you never know. When we decided to try we were thinking very optimistically that he would certainly be here by the time the baby was born. Plus the wait time at that point was 20 months. Anyways, my pregnancy has been nothing but miserable so far, I can't eat anything, I throw up all the time, and I feel sick the whole day. But if my husband gets here before the baby is born, I will still be so happy because I can be pregnant alone, I would just prefer if he were here for the birth, and to hold his baby and all that. But again, Like Sammy said, if he isn't here, luckily I will be on maternity leave and can take the baby to Jamaica to stay with my husband. He has his own house and it would be possible until he gets to come here. Still hoping everything works out and he gets here before May!!!!!! :)
