Does anyone know how much it would cost me to send the passport by DHL to the embassy? If I was to send the itinerary number and flight information with passport how much time to I have to give them from stamping the visa to the flight? Can I do that or have to wait till the visa comes back before before booking a ticket.

I just wanted to add to Mrs. Maddants read. It is funny how every other class is mentioned and special consideration is given. I guess they believe that marriages can stand the test of time.

I wonder what the PC objective is to make this happen? Are they hiring more people to process the PR's or are other sections (like us) going to suffer when they shift their focus?

I got a chuckle out of the NDP blaming the PC for the backlog in the first place! Please folks, remember this during the next election and make your vote count...even if your spouse has already landed.

I'm not sure how much it costs but I'm sure someone will be by in a minute to let you know.

I just found a pm from a former forum member and it cost them $1900 JMD to send the passport/return envelope to KG via DHL about nine months ago. I'm sure the cost has gone up somewhat but that is a ballpark figure for you to go by.

The only time KG requests a flight itinerary from the Applicant is when they are down to the wire i.e. medical is close to expiring and the Applicant needs to land before the expiry date.

If you choose to send a flight itinerary you risk the chance of having to pay to reschedule your flight should KG not return your passport with the visa in it by the date you are choosing to land in Canada. Personally, I would wait until you have the shiny visa in the palm of your hand and then book the next flight available. Kingston has been working slower than molasses and nobody can predict when they will return your passport after they request it. And I get the inkling that Kingston likes to run the show and not be told when you need your passport/visa. Here's hoping they get back to the good old days when they returned passports within two weeks! But first they have to request it...

Welcome home Mrs. Maddants! Glad you had an amazing time with Maddants. It is funny how the time in between seeing one another is like 2 days for every one day and when you are together the time flies by. I know he will be here soon with the rest of the 2012 clan.

WOF...Happy Happy Anniversary!!! Wishing you and Mr. WOF a Blessed Anniversary!!! You have to share...11 years is a long time especially under these circumstances. I am only approaching 2 years in marriage and I tell yuh if it were not for prayer and having faith long distance and separation really take a toll on long distance relationships. Lets not add the naysayers.

Mrs Mine Congratulations!!! You are going to have an extra special Christmas I can feel it. Did you send an itinerary with your husband's passport? Just asking I know they ask for it sometimes and from what I have read they have actually processed the visa much faster.
