Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the forum, and I've been reading about your stories for awhile now. I filed for my husband in July of this year and the anticipation is killing me! I can't imagine waiting even one more month.. but by the looks of it I have a long time to go!

Quick question.. Have any of you applied for your wife/husband to visit using a Temporary Visa while the Permanent Visa is in processing?

Thinking about doing this... Hoping I can get some of your thoughts/feedback

My husband and I did an application for a trv and they denied it with a list a mile long. But mainly because of your sponcership they denied us. Everybody is different. I have friends who were proactive and got a tourist visa before they file for a sponcership and got the tourist visa. As others have said welcome and enjoy the process.

@ waitingforever..girl i thought when they called you about the courier u would have gotten back passport next day..have u tried emailing them? I still haven't received mine i emailed no response so ill just have to wait

Hello saskia...I know right...I think Kingston in playing a cruel game with us..so close yet so far away...we have tried everything to figure this out...went to Kingston, come to find out they will only give you the passport on tuesdays or thursdays...he went on wednesday....called the courier service about 50 times..they still do have the package...so the last resort is the hubby is going to try and pick it up in Kingston today..the worst that can happen is they say NO..they already sent it...I feel your pain saskia we will get the sweets..just a little longer!!!!!!

you have been waiting forever for your passport I have been waiting just under two weeks so I dont know what I'm complaining about????...lol

I hope I'll be some sort of exception to the slim chances of getting him here!! I filed around the 15th of July.. Got back my approval to sponsor on Aug 20.. So now I'm just waiting for any sort of update! I can't help but feel that I'm being a little bit greedy though because I can see it's taking Kingston over 12 months to get back to some people.. A friend of mine got her file taken care of in 5 months! I hope that will be me too ;D ;D

As Ready has explained several people have applied for a TRV during this process and have been unsuccessful.

Things have been VERY quiet in Kingston lately but hopefully the passport requests start rolling so we can be reunited with our families!!!!

ohhhh i just remembered my hubby told me something last night that kinda made me happy. He has a friend that worked in the US Embassy as an officer and he asked him about the times going up. This guy told him that the timelines are only for people that are applying, they can look forward to that type of timeline when they apply, it does not apply to those already in process. So that means that when I started it was 16 months so this should be done really really soon for me! Woohoo.....it did make me happy to hear that though.

Oh dear... as I quickly found out on this forum... almost every single one of us KNOWS someone who got through in 5 months... we hope it's one of us too!!!!

Awww, thanks for your encouraging words, jojrob1!!! Since Stage 2 starts at the sponsorship approval date, I'm looking at April 2014!!!! That would make it 25 months since we submitted our application!!!!

When I applied Stage 1 processing was 90 days and Stage 2 was 16 months. It would be nice to see Stage 2 decline like Stage 1 has!!!!

Yesterday I booked my flight to JA and we reserved our room at a resort for the end of January. I told my hubby with my luck KG is going to call and ask him for his passport now and since his medical expires at the beginning of January we won't get to have a vacation!!!! He said I sounded disappointed!!!!

Obviously having my hubby with me in Canada is wayyyyyyyy more important than a vacation!!!!

So come on Kingston...call my hubby so we can cancel our vacation!!!!!
