Hi everyone, I posted this on the main threads already; however, wanted to draw your attention to it on our POS & Kingston threads as well. Let's make our voices collectively heard by CIC.

Hello forum members/intending immigrants and people who are readers of the discussions only, for those of you that may not already be aware, CIC is conducting a public online consultation/survey asking for opinions to shape the direction of immigration over the next 4-8 years.

If you want your opinion and voice to be heard please take about 20 minutes to complete this action. Please read the questions carefully. Click on the link below and scroll down a bit to the link on the page that will take you to the survey. You can only complete the survey once and it is open to Canadian citizens, PRs and intending immigrants.

The deadline is August 31, 2013.

Thank you CdnandTrini for the re-post of this link. I just filled it out. :)

Thanks for sharing the survey, C&T.

I find it interesting (dripping with sarcasm here) that the government quotes EVERYWHERE (even in the survey) that family reunification is a top priority; however, the majority of the questions are about economic growth, education, skilled trades, etc. At least there was a comment box at the end so I could put my two cents in regarding outlandish processing times for PR's for spouses and children. It should not take longer than a year (from the day the app is filed in Canada) for decisions to be made on these types of applications!!!!! *steps down from soapbox*

As a side note: family reunification is barely mentioned during the strike either; the main concerns are student and travel visas and the negative impact on our economy. *really stepping down from the soapbox this time*

:o Fast? Unfortunately that hope was lost for me about one year ago. :'(

Hi everyone,

Nevaeha, I didn't meant anything bad hey, I know how much frustrating it should be keeping the faith, being positive and strong as time goes on and nothing significative happens. It seems like the processing timeline is really random from one person to the next, I wonder how Kingston works, if there is a procedure to be followed.

I thought before starting everything that within 8 months or so I would be in my hubby's arms daily, but I was shocked when lurking on this forum that it is more likely a year and a half or more for most of you. I wonder if they know how hard it is emotionally going through all this. It is family class sponsorship, and God knows how important a family is...

We just have to hope and pray that they finalise all your files (2012 applicants) as soon as they get back to work full staff, get that back log behind and bring that processing time lenght reasonable.

Oh hun, I know you didn't mean anything bad. :-* I just like to remind myself how long I've been in this darn process! :P

Actually those of us waiting for over a year are the minority so you may be one of the fortunate ones that gets through in a shorter period of time! We will see things pick up in the fall and by the end of the year. :D

Added your info :)

Thanks a lot! You could also add that they received the medical whenever you go and update some status. That is the only available info on the ecase, oh and that the file is received (where CIC in Ottawa or KG?) We'll be fixed when KG reply to my email I sent them Monday.

Need to hear grand news from you guys, while I am continuing preparing myself to learn how to be patient...

Lol, I stand right beside you on the soapbox Miss Nev. and yes I thought the exact same thing about the survey. It is a bit ridiculous how they have slanted the questions so I did the same as you and put in my REAL thoughts in the "free speech" section. I also dramatically increased the percentages of family class and humanitarian applications. I did not know they were so low compared to the economic class. The CIC background info. is also presented in a hugely biased way so that is why people need to go and fill it out and bring some balance!! ;)

Absolutely! I did fill it out. It was long, but it's worth it.

Hello cafelatte02 and welcome to the forum. Thank you for taking action, we need every individual voice to contribute to a big roaring chorus of "we're mad >:( and we want to see changes"!! Blessings to you and your hubby on this immigration journey. You can still lurk on your down days ;), but it is good to hear from each other in solidarity.

Thanks for sharing CDNandtrini; I did point out too that family class is being referred to as priority but the mix is low and processsing times are too slow. As well why not process more applications and do them faster by adding resources to get this done because reunification of families positively impact the economy and also aids in the population growth with the birth of children.

I hope they read our comments. ;D

Hi Kadi27! I would definitely like to be added to chickies spreadsheet as well :)
I also come here often and will definitely keep you updated with the application. Haven't filed yet, just getting everything together to do so

Thanks!

Hi Sebella; I sure will. The more the merrier and all the best in getting your application to CIC as quickly as possible. :)

Ok thanks; I will update your eCas status now; yea the received part showing now is from CPC Mississauga. Once Kingston replies you can confidently use that as an acknowledgement of receipt that they have your hubby's file. ;)

Thanks for taking the time to do the survey Kadi27! It sounds like those of us who have completed the survey so far, have commented on many of the same issues. I had to chuckle reading your post as I basically made the same argument as you did in my "do you have anything else to add" section. Strength in numbers. ;) Blessings.

:o Where is everyone? :o

Come out, come out, wherever you are!!!!!

And yes, this includes you too, Kingston!!! :P
