Chelly..My husband has had a health card before and also got the same number back to this time ...But that is not the reason he went to get it either...

You can apply anytime, But you need a either bank statement with his name on it and adress here in canada..Or a utility bill same deal ..My hubby has also had a account in canda for years ...So we never had to go through nothing to get him a bank statement lord they were sent to my house monthly while he has been gone ..

Thing is that goes for everyone it will not be valid for 3 months time ...From the date he landed ...So get on getting him a bank account sign up for statemnts in the mail ..Once he has that and his PR card that comes automatically in the mail between 4-6weeks then he can apply ..But they will tell you it will not be valid until 3 months after his landing..

We brought his BC with us passport landing papers and PR card along with his bank statement ..I am not sure we needed all of it BUT she sure took it all and looked ..

So yah it can wait to get health card cuz technically he cannot use it for 3 months ..Just make sure you have a bank statement they will not process it without it.. LOL actually that goes for anyone same deal i had to provide it too this time cuz i was updating my helath card as well..

Anyways hubby has been here alomst 3 months this 28 of the month.. she said he would have the card before then BUT it wasnt valid until the 28th of may ...

Yah KC its been almost 3 months time does fly when yuh have no worries and problems out of the ordinary..but it dont when you a wait pan dem RASS..

So, I emailed my VO about a week ago inquiring about the interview they said I will have at some point in the future. This is what I got in response:

Dear Applicant,

This refers to your e-mail below. We do not have a estimated time-frame for your interview. Your interview will be held at our office in Georgetown, Guyana.

Port of Spain
Trinidad and Tobago


At least I know they are alive at that VO but an interview date would be much more appreciated.



Partner is coming down to visit in June for about 2 weeks and then we are meeting up again in Barbados for a week in August.

So excited for those reunions. Can't wait!


God, let there be at least one or two updates before the work week ends.

Confused - dont know about POS but i do know that with KG they give you 60 days notice of the interview. Just an assumption here but I would figure it would be roughly the same time frame. I cant remember if Maple or Homesoon (the two ladies who got interviews) were informed by mail or phone call but I am sure they will chime in when they come on and let you know!

lol - I am sure you understood the provocative lingo - our lingo isnt too far off from Trinidad or Guyana... Just cuz we are not using the words toti and loli

sheraig...glad u liked, steal it if u want, words are meant to be shared. as far as being bright, when it comes to words, they have always been my weapon, not always for the good, they were a defense for me as a fluffy gyal. i might be fat, but i sure know how to make the low life making crack at fat people feel stupids...not nice but it was my way of defense growing up...i try to use them for positives now

It's just to know when they will issue that letter. My only concern now is that I have booked my trip for Barbados in August around the same time my file will reach it's 1 year processing time and I am afraid that through my wonderful luck in life that they will call for an interview during that time.

I pray to god that they don't and do it before or after my trip cuz I can't cancel now. Expedia.ca will charge me


They have said in a previous email that they do not need any more documents for the application so I guess that's a good thing, right? Plus, I have ordered CAIPS which will be coming in the next 1-2 weeks.

SOSO, I bet on a girl because boys are so hard to make these days.

I watched this one program on CBC a few months back that demonstrated how changes in our lifestyle possess the types of babies we make. They placed a lot of emphasis on plastic materials such as PET and Xylene and how these molecules leak into our bodies through heating, bodily contacts, and just overall deterioration.

Plus, I learned from Biology (I am somewhat a scientist of all types) that boys are made from just a teeny strand of the X Chromosome that breaks off and forms a Y therefore the XY for boys

Therefore, I bet on a girl but prove me wrong at 3pm today
