hey everyone its has lovely weather for the past week, i see all our September people for Kingston VO are still in the Caribbean sea looking.
so my wife spoke her MP and he said Jamaica has the worst visa office in the world sigh, that's not good coming from someone in that position. So if they know why not do something about it, it cant be good there is one lady dealing with everyone's profile, its not fair to her or us. Our lives, families and relationship suffers because of this, not good people.

i guess we keep the faith till she reaches our file.
that is so wrong for the MP to make that common about the kingston office.....if it is so bad there why he dont get the government to make changes to that embassy and hire more ppl....

I once got a hold of someone there by accident in the accounting department. I took the opportunity to ask how many immigration officers they has working on our files.
Anyone care to have a guess???

L
Keep in mind. They also process 3 other countries there too for a total of four countries including Jamaica....

Good Morning everyone! I just got back from Jamaica yesterday a week was way too short!!! missing my husband like crazy n its only been a couple of days since I left. :( I got to work this morning and I had sent Kingston a email from my work email and this is what they sent back to me.

Dear Madam

Thank you for your email.

This Family Class application was received by our office on 25 September 2012 after being forwarded by Case Processing Centre Mississauga. This application is currently pending initial review, after which we will contact the applicant directly to advise the outcome of the review and any next steps.

We are striving to make our processing of Family Class applications as efficient as possible. We continue to meet our commitment to a service standard of 6 months to finalization for at least 80% of cases for sponsored spouses, partners, and children. Processing times are calculated from the date the application is approved by Case Processing Centre Mississauga, after which it is sent to the visa office for further processing. For individual cases, actual processing times may vary depending on the complexity of the application and the number of new applications received by the visa office.

Applicants can check the status of their case on the CIC website by clicking on Client Application Status. For actual processing times of permanent resident applications in Kingston for the last 12 months, please click here. Applicants may also refer to our website, www.jamaica.gc.ca, for more information about processing times.

I am praying that this week someone will get some good news even if it is not me. Kingston IO are slowing down we probably need to send them some love so that they can in turn send us some love and send home our spouses. What do you all think?

i was just reading this last set of post of what the husband have to do and how much you people are spend when your in Jamaica and you all really need some hook up.
Firstly someone said food in Jamaica is expensive that's not true, you just have to know where to buy the food. sending a barrel with food stuff doesn't always works out cheaper by the time you buy the stuff, ship the barrel then clear it in Jamaica its everything in that barrel you just bought all over.
When you get here staying here you doesn't have to stay in the high end places, just by going on the internet you can find lovely places for little money. (http://www.hotelscombined.com/Place/Negril_1.htm) also when your booking a place or going anywhere make sure to ask for the jamaican rates as in let the person who lives on the island make the bookings its normally 10-20% less.

Doing things can always be outside the box, you don't have do the norm and the norm is always more expensive, ask around, the think i find and its very bad to say is that most Jamaicans doesn't have clue about this lovely island, they just stick to the norm and get lost in the system like everyone else, its fourteen parishes with lots to offer.

Here an eg. 3 adults, 3kids stayed in a 2 bedroom villa for 6 days 5 nights 600cad\us the place came with a full kitchen so all they had to do was buy food to cook, it was beach front property so they didn't miss nothing.
I am not saying that we don't know places to go but the car rental is alot then the cost of the gas.....like we literally drove from one side of JA to the other so our gas bill for the week was expensive, we didn't have to stay in a hotel so we didn't have that expense. By food I mean buying at the road side vendors and such since we weren't home to cook since we were travelling. Everywhere you go visit something, they all expect you to buy them a beer etc lol that is what I meant by the expense.

I find groceries are pretty much the same price as Canada besides cranberry juice nearly 5.00 for ocean spray. I shopped at mega mart in kingston, bought fresh fish from the sea. Also went to country up in the hills to get fresh fruits and vegetables. I ate out at Burger King once, KFC once and bought patty a few times. We mostly cooked. As far as spending I only bought keychains. I found most of the money went to gas as we toured the island for a week. Hotel thank goodness we don't need one. I stayed only 1 night in Gloriana in Montego Bay for 45.00. The barrel is not worth it agree after u pay for the barrel, buy the stuff, the lock, shipment and to clear it doesn't make sense. Rent is a 100.00 cdn, cable 70.00, water 30.00 hydro 60.00 and gas 30.00. It's different if your husband or wife hasn't left the island and has a job to help out. For chickie and I are spouses have left the island it's not easy for them to find work. Also I don't find it safe for my husband to work nor it's not worth it I rather him stay home and be safe.
No my hubby don't need cable, he has dominoes to go play lol Safety is the first concern for my hubby also....that is why he doesn't even live where he grew up so where he is now he doesn't know anyone and it makes it hard for him to find a job when he is like a stranger to the people in the community.

i sure agree with you 100% on what you are saying....the thing is about foreignor coming to Jamaica is that they dont get them self educated before the come here to Jamaica at all....im not saying that is all of them but most of them dont. The ones that have spouse out here like everyone on this forum....There spouse should let them know ahead of times what going on here in Jamaica so the ones that is traveling down to the island should have a heads up on what to expect. Im not saying that a person would know everything but to just try and know the basic things....To all that lives in Canada traveling down and waiting for the long process. make sure you tell hubby/wifey that we are not going to do alot of traveling at all. tell them you trying to save money also. you can go four a few days but try to stay home most of the time and just relax with your other half....when your spouse reach Canada and you both traveling together then you can have fun. why i say this is because both of the spouses would be working and can save up the money for your vacation and dont have to worry about what you going to do when you get there....When my wife come to Jamaica, I try to make sure that she dont spend what she dont have too.. when she come here what i do is take the money from here and i do the spending and because they have some ppl out here in Jamaica that know when you a foriegnor and they will want to over charged you for things. but since im the Jamaica they cant go around me at all. when my wife come to Jamaica as well i make sure that we dont go no where close to any tourism area because it very expensive there.......I know that because i use to do security work in a hotel in negril some years ago....The main thing for anyone traveling to Jamaica is just tell your partner that you just come to relax and i bet you will sure save money........My wife never spend over 500cad since she been coming to jamaica and i take here to alot of place but i sure tell her that baby when you come here you should just stay home and relax. the reason been is that we dont have the moeny to be going up and down like that because of the immigration sponsorship....so we have to try and save what we can........im not trying to bash anyone still but take my foolish advice on anyone coming to Jamaica......I hope this can help someone save a dollar :) :) :) :).........

Well I guess us Canadians like to enjoy our vacations when we come down....i don't know about anyone else but i work hard up here and when I am on vacation, I wanna enjoy myself. I don't wanna sit in a house. I had never been to Jamaica before and I wanted to see the sites and to meet my husbands family. They are spread out all over Jamaica so the only way we could get to them was by car. I didn't mean this to cause an upset in our little forum here! I was just saying sometimes it is hard to come up with the money to go see your spouses, it isnt just the plane fare you need, that is all I meant.

When God is ready for us.
Good morning Jam/Fam.
I am hoping that everyone is doing well today. I am here today to try and lift up our spirits. It seems like we are all going through a dry spell with Kingston lately. To be honest I have been so down lately. This immigration process has been taking a toll on me. I never realized it until when I was on vacation with hubby and then it was over..time to come home. Suddenly I became I hot mess crying and all. When I realized that I will be coming back to Canada (alone) to pick up where I left off. The Lord only knows what challenges we all have to face? It is so nice to have someone.. your someone (spouse) that can say babe I got your back. Most of the times someone that has not travelled to really understand how hard it can be up here. You have to work, care for kids, school, house, care for yourself and lots more things..but to have acknowledgement for all that you are doing really means a lot. When I was in Jamaica both my spouse and I didn't have alot of money..but really it is not about the money. It is about the company, my spouse, the man that I love. He can stretch money like an elastic band.LOL. He tries to make sure that I have a great time on little funds..we go to local events around the area, local beach, supermarket and it really helps that St Elizabeth is the food basket of Jamaica (so them say anyway) .I shouldn't say that because I know it its true, anything you throw down grows there. No one wants to go a on vacation and sit in the house because that is what we do here while we wait, it is not recommended by me. It just feels good to be with the one you love .making love, talking, laughing, looking touching, squeezing, smelling..etc you get the picture. While I was in Jamaica it rained cats and dogs nothing to me was more sensual. We ran out in the rain, took off our clothes and layed naked in the bed, we listened to the rain falling on the zinc roof top and on the ground through the window. Honestly I thought I experienced a little bit of heaven. What was the cost for that priceless. We went to the local beach and no one was there. I walked along the beach. l rolled up my pants foot and walked in the water until it got to my knees and wet my pants. I didn't pick up any shells like I always do but I was just amazed. I thanked God for that moment. I remember talking to God. I was praising him for his goodness. I looked into the turquoise water and saw so many different shades of blue. I thought to myself that no man can ever created this and that no other time on this planet could ever be like that for that instant in time was priceless. I had an unexpected visitor the day that I landed in JA, ladies you know who I mean..i can hear you now.oh no, after all that planning. LOL. Don't feel sad for me. this was the best sexless trip that I have ever had. I have learned that even though sex is great, wonderful, amazing, spectacular, over the moon (need I say more) and a requirement for physical intimacy there is so much more. Physical sex is an extension to any relationship. There are not enough words in the english language to describe how much I love and respect my husband. We were able to make love without.. well you know what I am talking about. Anyways I could write a whole lot more however I wont. I think I have babble enough. As I said I am here to encourage our forum today. I am asking for us not to get discouraged because our days are coming when we will be with our spouses. We just need to continue to support, uplift and be mindful that God is working it out. The battle is not ours but if we cast our fears, problems everything on him he will take care of it. One last thing before I go please do not forget to tell those you love that you love them. Last year at this time I was in Jamaica with my family not knowing that in just 3 short months later I would be saying goodbye to my aunt forever. I actually met my husband in person on May 2/12 so it will be our 1 year anniversary of actually meeting. We talked for a long time before actually meeting. One day soon I will tell you all the story. For anyone reading this. Please know that you are blessed everyday that we can awake from a nights rest is a day to give thanks for the good and especially for the bad. The bad is what makes our shoulders stronger, it gives us another reason to try harder it gives us a testimony to help others. I had to kiss alot of frogs before God send me the one that turned into a prince and helped me to realize that I am no longer a jewel in the rough. I am blessed and highly favoured by the one and only that truly matters. My Lord for he has given me the life in order to praise him on a daily basis. To all have a wonderful day. Someone will hear some good news this week. Lord I thank you in advance and I give you praises today and forever.
I have enough love to share. Thanks and Be blessed. Have a wonderful day, week, month, year.
By the way I am looking for a cheap flight to Jamaica to get some exercise. :D :D :D LOL.

Marvin's Motivational Moment: #Soulmates

I just got this from Pastor Marvin Sapp fb page and wanted to share it. Hope you enjoy.

If you think that finding or being found by a mate is all about having a perfect partner with a tag of awesomeness, then change the way you think. Soul mates are not any special people with some out of the world qualities. They are just ordinary people with an extraordinary passion to make a relationship work despite the odds, despite the complications and despite all the imperfections in their life. No one becomes your soul mate the very first day you meet them. It is a journey of two people in love who happen to be really good together in all circumstances. They just have this spark in their relationship which helps them to make compromises and overcome their imperfections in the most beautiful way. It is a relationship where things just work out and the bond just keeps getting stronger with each passing day.

Be blessed
