I am dealing with an overstay on a visa for hubby but looks like I won't have to do an ARC by the way kingston is moving. Hubby got a 1 year ban from Canada before he can apply for a work visa again. His ban started from the time he left which was nov 2012. You can phone your officer that you had to report to weekly to see if they can write some postive notes on your file. That's if you and the officer had a good relationship. I know my husbands officer did that for him so it's a bit easier to get back into Canada.

Ban :o :o this I never heard

Good Morning famz,

My husband isn't a denied refugee he just overstayed in Canada. You guys might not have a ban I don't know the officer at the airport would of told you when you signed a paper before you got on the plane. There was 3 types of ban in his sheet ban for 1 yr, ban for 2 or ban all together. They just have him 1 yr from Canada before he could apply for a work visa to Canada. My situation is a little different then yours and chickie.

Good morning yardi :), I came across this forum when I was searching for some Jamaican news as to how Kingston process their application. Its been very interesting and entertaining reading all the post. Seems like one big family with many highs and lows. My category is different from everyone here I came to Canada November 2008 as a live in caregiver. Got married July 2010 and applied for PR with my husband as my dependent December 2010.

So talk about waiting to live with your spouse. It took CIC 26months for me just to get approval in principle. I just got that Feb 12,2013. Bear in mind when I entered the caregiver program processing times were 6-8 months from the time you apply to when you become landed (even the processing of your family)

Our files have just been transfered to kingston (Feb 12,2013) and they should be contacting my husband for his process to begin before I can become landed.( Our papers are process jointly) Well God only knows when they will send him his first letter. But we hope and pray just as we have been doing for the past 26 going 27 months.

We have been married for almost 3 years and the most time we have spent together ( thanks to CIC Backlog) was about 3 and a half WEEKS thats when I got fed up one day last September and took off the following day . Literally one day notice lol.

The reason for my post is to just share with everyone who are discourage and think their processing is taking FOREVER to hang in there. (sometimes when you think you have it bad their is someone else who might be in worst condition) You can imagine the frustration fi a Jamaica man married almost three years and no wife! This takes a huge toll on our relationship and its only the Almighty that a sustain. This morning I woke up to a text from him from the bible ' and God said it is not good for man to be alone..........) I can only imagine which side a the bed him wake up on this morning but obviously lonely and frustration was in the bed wid him.

I would trade my shoes with nuff a uno here with the year plus timeline lol :). not sure anyone would want my shoe though. yet me sure people waiting longer than me. So next time u feel like bawl or give up just hang in peeps. things could be a whole lot worst :) :)

Ps. Please ignore my google document below my post I am apart live in caregiver forum where we share we time line but few Jamaicans ( full a Philippines )
