Good Afternoon Everyone.

Sorry I've been MIA since morning but I just got back from my shopping excursion and was just sitting here in my office wiping away some tears.....

I wanted to share my story with each you of what happened to me today.

Does anyone here believe in angels? I mean real angels, who just out of nowhere walks into your life for just that moment in time carrying out a very specific mission. Well I do.....I've met about 3 in the last year whom I would put all my church money and declare "That's an angel"

OK, here goes.......

I went to Hudson's Bay this am to look for a winter coat for hubbie as I've been putting it off for weeks now. Thinking in my head, I thought I had $400 dollars in my wallet, I had also planned to get some other items such as underwear, shirts, socks, hat, scarf, house slippers, etc. So I was good to go.

While I was perusing the coat rack, this little old man came up to me and asked me if I needed help. I said, well sure, are these coats on sale? He said, well it depends, I'd have to check for you. So I found this really handsome wool coat and which I was set on. Price tag, $250. Walked over to the cash counter and he checked the price; $99. I couldn't believe it. That was my bargain for the month!! I'm thinking, I'm a winner!!! :D :D :D

So then after, I said to the man, I'd also like to get a few more things so I will be back. Long story short, I came back with at least another $300 worth of things. I was feeling good because I found some great buys and just knew hubbie would love the picks. :D (my proud smile)

Ok here is when the miracles started pouring out (litterally one by one).....

The old man said, you're a really good shopper young lady. I said, well thank you. He started to ring everything up and we talked about travelling and seeing the world and then came on to the topic of why I was purchasing all these male clothing items. Here comes my smile again.... :D. Well, I said, my husband is coming home to Canada for the first time ever and we were blessed because it happens to be on Valentine's day. The old man behind his lowered eye glasses smiled. He just had this twinkle in his eyes and so joyful to be serving me. I mean he ran 5 customes away saying "Please go use the other cash as we will be awhile". All these customers had these confused annoyed expressions on their faces each time he sent them away because I was the only one in line.

So one by one, he rang in the items. Total came to just a little over $400 so I figured I'd pay the difference with my debit card seeing how I "thought" I had $400 in my wallet. I looked in my wallet and almost fainted because there was only $200. Then I realized that I never took out the other $200 from my underwear drawer at home. No worries, I'm thinking I'll just pay the difference on credit.

Then suddenly, just as how he rang in the items one by one, he starting discounting the bill one by one. While doing this, he would say, Oh don't you see a little stain right there on the coat, boom another 15% taken off. (BTW...there wasn't a stain. He was making it all up!!) Oh my, no price tag on the Ralph Lauren knit hat? Well I know this goes for $75 but I mean since it's the last one, $15. Boom another discount. He got my bill to $227. I stood there in awe. Was this for real? Then he put the cherry on top. He voided 2 more items and got my bill to $197!!!

I said, why? He smiled gently and said, well why not? Still stunned and with tears ready to roll down my face, I asked him, do you work here everyday? He responded, well no, I'm retired, I just come in part time. I said, won't this get you in trouble? He said, well that's not for you to worry about, I will make it up. Happy Valentine's day young lady, your husband will look mighty handsome in his coat. Before walking away, I said to him, I hope you know I know that you're an angel.

And with that, the eyes behind the lowered eye glasses twinkled as it had been in the entire 30mins I was with him at the cash counter. The little old man stood there with the same gentle smile as I walked away.

There are just some things in life we can't question but know without a doubt is God's work.
Hey sis i just ready your post and i do have to say that you sure are blessed...God is just taking good care of you...Send some of your blessing ova to me and everyone on this forum.lol...but it sure good to know that god is watching over us for sure...Just remember that God dont sleep

Just wanted to give everyone an update.

Hubbie is safe and sound at the airport. He's so amazed with the liquor store inside. When walking in, he said "Bombaaaclot" LOLOL. He said he'd love for his bar to stocked up like that. He's now waiting by the gate and will board in 20 mins. He's asking so many questions, just like a child seeing something for the first time.

Sooooo, I'm now on the phone with him until it's time for take off.

He say's hello to everyone as I told him we're having a party on the forum. I told him how everyone here is cheering us on and we're grateful for that. He's never been on the forum but I am constantly tell him about our fun.

We're now reminiscing about our journey and where we started. Talking about the hardships and the humble beginnings we've endured in BOTH our lives. I too came to Canada as an immigrant at the age of 4. Lived in a refugee camp for one year in Hong Kong with my parents when I was 3. Escaped a country stricken by one of the most deadliest wars in history when I was born. The Vietnam war. Travelled by sea, not knowing if we would die or make it alive to this great nation of Canada. So I understand the road of poverty, hardship, prejudice, discrimination and English as a second language. I understand what it means to start with nothing. These were our commonalities we spoke of in our immigration letter. These were our commonalities making us the perfect partners in life.

I love my husband with all of my soul and want the very best for him just as a person. Besides our relationship, he deserves every ounce of this amazing opportunity because he is a good honest man. He loves life, he's a hard working man for our family and his thirst for a better life to take care of us is now about to begin.

As I'm typing this, he keeps wispering on the other end "I just want to be with you and we will be together forever. Nothing can keep us apart now."

To be continued.......

Big Love.
wow im glad your hubby got to you safe and sound....just tell yourself that you are bless by the almighty......i hope that you treat the hubby good and just keep him warm....lmaooooooooo

Thanks Bright Shining Star from me and Mr. Tammyball as you say lol. Nuff respect! I can stay from where I am and see you and by the way you' a blind mi! The camera crew is also there. It's now 12:30 am... YEAH!!!. I can hear your heart beating too. Hopefully he won't be long inside with immigration and customs. Not sure if we will hear from you when hubby lands in a few mins. so probably I need to go to bed. Remember we need you to stay alive so don't let hubby kill you with anything. My hubby is fast asleep and couldn't believe I wanted to wait up to hear about your excitement so have to make up to him, thanks to you lol. He wouldn't begin to understand the energy and positive vibes that are overflooding the forum. I hope you're still standing and very sober. Anyway, very best wishes to you. I cant stop saying how very happy I am for you. Tonight's (and the days leading up to this) experience is one you just have to cherish. I am dying to hear landing story. Remember to include the pics (not the x-rated ones though)!!!

By the way, be careful which drawer you put those money as you want to remain healthy for hubby lol.
Happy Earth Strong sis ....i hope you live to see many more ..........sorry for the late post

Small update (but an update none the less!)
- I sent an email to Kingston on Dec 31, 2012 asking them if we should forward the on-going proof of our relationship, re-do hubby's medical and police check because they were expiring in January
- I didn't hear back from them so I emailed them almost 200 pages of additional proof (yes, I had to send 6 different attachments because of the size)
- In January my MP's office contacted Ottawa on my behalf and confirmed Kingston received our application, the email I sent, and the proof of our on-going relationship since we applied
- I ordered our GCMS notes and received them on January 31, 2013. I was gutted because all of the statuses (except the medical) stated not started and there was not one single note by a visa officer in them. The only glimmer of hope was there was some sort of update on Dec 15, 2012. But other then that nothing, ziltch, zippo, nada
- On Feb 12, 2013 I forwarded Kingston the email I sent them on Dec 31 , 2012. I asked them again if we should re-do the medical and police check
- Now here's the update (bet you didn't think I'd ever get here!) Kingston sent me a Valentine's Day present (well, okay, an email) which said:

~Your spouse will be required to apply for a new Police Certicate he's on it!

~A request was sent to the Medical Department in Ottawa requesting an extension of his medical music to my ears

~Right of Permanent Resident fee of $490 is outstanding not true so I emailed them a copy of our official receipt

I was soooooooooo happy to hear something from Kingston you would have thought I won the lottery. Everyone in my office was either cheering or crying!!!!!

So now I'm happy...for about a month. ;)
Wow Sis congrats on your update......things are going in the right direction for you right now......you soon hear hubby calling you telling you kingston ask for his passport

Valentine's Day
Hellooooooo Everyone!!!!!

How has everyone been doing? I see we have much to celebrate here!! Wow what an awesome month!!!!!!

I haven't had a chance to read each post however was able to catch glimpse of the astounding news for several of our beloved members. Without further a due here is some much deserved congratulations to Cee. I am so happy for you. It is your time and I wish you the very best that life has awaiting the moment you and your husband reunite. So here is a big toss................

******Throws Confetti!!!!*******

Najj, congratulations to you also. Your sugastick has landed. What a blessing. I am rejoicing and wish you many many years ahead full of love and happiness. Enjoy this wonderful time of togetherness with your soul mate.

Have I missed anyone else? Do update me if I have. I don't want to leave out anyone!

So I was about to get in to bed but decided this would be the perfect time to sneak on and touch base with everyone. I just made hubbie his late night snack and kissed him good night. Waited oh but 1 min for the light snore to kick in and then quickly scurried over to my breakfast bar and to turn on my lap top. (It really does take him 1 min or less to fall asleep).

Where do I start? I recall the last post I made was about seeing everyone on the other side. So here goes.......

I arrived at Pearson mins after midnight of the 14th and was feeling calm. I think I had built up so much anxiety that I couldn't be any more nervous than I was. I'm very grateful to have had a very special friend hold my hand throughout the day, counting down every hour, sending me screen shots of where the flight was, and staying with me while I raced down the 401 to get to the airport on time. Ladies, make sure you have that one friend who can do this for you on that day for without him/her, you may just collapse like I almost did.

So I want to give a special thanks to Miss D who was a true friend to me that entire day especially when I got stuck in traffic on the 401 mins before hubbie's plane was about to land. I was in panic mode an you kept me focus.

Also, Nev, thank you for giving me jokes throughout the day and being a cheerleader in one of the most important days of my life.

......So Hubbie's plane landed right at 12:12 and I waited about 30 mins before he made his grand exit. I only recall seeing the two doors slide apart and seeing his handsome face. Boy he looked so darn good I tell you. In that moment, the feeling is surreal. These past years of being the one to get on a plane to see him, I couldn't believe he was the one to coming to me this time. Here is where I may disappoint you all but in all honesty, there wasn't really a big show like you would see in the movies where you run towards each other in slow motion, get lifted up in the air and kiss passionately for mins.

He simply smiled, walked over, held me and gave me a sweet kiss saying, I'm here baby, I'm finally here.

So without wasting anymore time, I bundled him up and we left. His reaction to the cold was that he LOVED it. As cold as it was, he just loved it!! I couldn't believe it. LOL!!

I took the long route home as I wanted him to see the Toronto skyline the first night. We went to have Chinese food which he devoured!! He keeps asking to go back!!!

Y'all are prolly thinking we've been making moon babies the last few days right? Well yes but it's been more like when we can fit it in!! We've had so much to do!! Since he's been here, we've gone grocery shopping, went to Winners to check out some winter gear, took him out to a really cool spot called Joe Mama's yesterday evening and we even hit up a club that a good friend of mine invited us to called 6 degrees. Ironically it happened to be Jamaica & Trinidad special long weekend night. Since my friend was the promoter for the event, we got on a special guest list that didn't require us to pay cover charge (big savings of $50) and drink tickets all night!! Had a blast!!

I think the only thing that has me a little tired is all the cooking I've been doing (not that kind of cooking)!! Hubbie is sooooo in love with my cooking, says he's in food heaven and has never tasted food so good. (That's huge coming from him) I held back cooking for him all this time as he's always done the cooking!!

Here are a few items from the Moon menu the last few days:

Buttered Banana pancakes, bacon, and sweet pepper omelette
Garlic Shrimp, Alfredo linguine
Southern style baked chicken with garlic buttered mash potatoes with the skin and sweet corn
His late night snack tonight....triple stacked grilled cheese and 4 Oreo cookies

The other day when we were out, I ordered poutine and hubbie asked why he got regular fries and I got the poutine. I had this look on my face. :-X
Turns out he loved it!!!

So to conclude, our start has been amazing. Most important thing for me is that he is comfortable. He wakes up everyday expressing how happy and lucky he is.

His daily words to me have been, I want you to always be happy with me babes, because if you're not, then I have no reason to be.

My words to you my friends is that life is a journey take it one day at a time. Don't rush and try to get everything done all at once. Map out a plan and stick to it. No matter what, always make time to show appreciation to one another and express gratitude for having each other. Being miles apart these past 2 1/2 years will always be a reminder to not sweat the small stuff....Life is too short for that. Make every day count. Savour the moment and live in the now.

Thank you everyone for all your love and support. You guys will always be my family.

Big Love.

Lastly, Y'all know I can't leave out the pics!!

Here are a few snaps since hubbie's landing.

He simply smiled, walked over, held me and gave me a sweet kiss saying, I'm here baby, I'm here.

So without wasting anymore time, I bundled him up and we left. His reaction to the cold was that he LOVED it. As cold as it was, he just loved it!! I couldn't believe it. LOL!!

I took the long route home as I wanted him to see the Toronto skyline the first night. Took him to have Chinese food which he enjoyed a lot. He keeps asking to go back!!!

Y'all are prolly thinking we've been making moon babies the last few days right? Well yes but more like when we can fit it in as we've had something to do everyday!! Since he's been here, we've gone grocery shopping, clothes shopping @ Winners, took him out to a really cool spot called Joe Mama's yesterday evening and we even hit up a club that a good friend of mine invited us to called 6 degrees.

Life is a journey, one day at a time. Don't rush and try to get everything done all at once. Map out a plan and stick to it. No matter what, always make time to show appreciation for one another and express gratitude for having each other. Being miles apart these past 2 1/2 years will always be a reminder to not sweat the small stuff....Life is too short for that. Make every day count. Savour the moment and live in the now.

Thank you everyone for all your love and support. You guys will always be my family.

Big Love.

This is super cute and very honest! Good luck on your interview. You sound like a very genuine couple and shouldn't have any problems. The interview is just the next step to getting him home with you. Best of luck and wishes to you Mr and Mrs
