Ours was paid in full upfront.

To add to your point earlier, in addition to having your links giving you an offer letter, immigration could also ask you for your most current income taxes again to prove your sources of income. Just something to keep in mind. They verify everything we provide to them hence the reason they don't only go with the documents we submit at face value but rather go to the source to verify its actually true. That's part of their risk management initiative.

Good looking out, and that would not be a problem either.

My main plight right now is to tie up these ends, and book my one way.

I will however, make sure to have all if not most of this documentation at hand upon next departure.

I can uphold my duties as sponsor....and dem fi know that i may be a 'sponsor' but a mother and wife first. Nothing can stop a determined woman, from making a way for her family.

ps i paid my fee upfront also....many of us did....

so its knocking a couple months off what?? 16?

its a gamble...a HUGE gamble. Luck of the draw from 4 months to 16.

From the time my paperwork reaches Kingston, IF im gonna be one of those 16 month cases....it nah go work.....by the time my file got through id prolly be filing for divorce. lol That being said with humor....

When we marry, we marry for life - but u never know whats in store...as i said before my brother married, within 18 months he was divorced and bitch walk away with cash for life in one nice lump sum.

Id rather work on having a good uplifting loving, calm marriage for 16 months, then risk it falling apart. By my own doing, and by his.

I do have faith in fi wi ting - eassssy....but i dont have faith under the circumstance of 16 months, UNLESS im by his side.

I know that might sound messed up - but the truth is the truth, and how i feel is how i feel. Ppl are only human.

We have no ties, we have no children - only thing holding us to last, is our heart. Thats the only motivation, inspiration - thats the only reason were together. .... Hes got nothing to come up here for but me.

at first this was all so easy....then a year and some later - here we are.....something's gotta give. i cant do the next 16 months like this. Thats a fact....and i dont think neither can he. MAN and WIFE are meant to live together NOT apart - nothing good can come from this.

When we married i figured he'd be up here by now....and to think i could have a whole other 1.5 years to go. Thats what scares me - its taking its toll.

They sent my husband to secondary immigration on his first visit to Jamaica because his return ticket was booked for 7 months in the future. The IO was suspicious when he said he was coming to live with his fiancee and get married, and "flagged" him. 5 months later when he was leaving, the immigration officer actually asked for his marriage certificate! Fortunately for us, we had gotten one right after we got married, and he had it with him. On his second visit, they asked for his return ticket/itinerary, and when he said he didn't have it because he booked online and hadn't printed it, they sent him to secondary again, and gave him a computer and told him to print off the itinerary and show them. Again, fortunately he had a return ticket booked and was able to print it for them.

My husband and I were apart for exactly 11 months and 2 days while we waited. I won't lie, it was hard. However, I think we had an "advantage" in that our relationship started online so we were already used to being separated once we had an emotional connection. Separation means nothing to us, being together is what's important. As my husband said, "I was separated from you for more than 30 years before we were together, I can bear another year and a half to make sure we are never separated again."

When did you and your hubby get married? And what is the MOST concerning to you about being apart besides the the obvious of longing and missing each other?

I like that statement CharlieD. It is really a matter of the mind. You can do something if you put your mind to it.. I can stand the test of being apart as long as I know it is not forever. I wont say it wont be hard but I will make it one day at a time.. One step in faith takes alot of pain away.

Ananda, tr to take all the pain and negativity away and think of hubby and all the great things about him.. the more you fill yourself with sadness, the sadder you will be and that will be no good to you or hubby.

We're here for you either way you decide to go!
