Hey TinTin, I am exactly in the same shoes as you, his PRRA was denied and they told him he had to leave in 30 days, and we paid for the ticket ourselves. I thought that if you did everything correctly and left on time and verified at each airport, then you were ok and didn't need an ARC? Well grrrr, that's another thing to add to the list. I was hoping he would be back here by Christmas but by the looks of it there is no way. What step in the process are you at right now (besides waiting LOL).

My husband submitted his fingerprints to Immigration on April 25. So now its waiting for Canada to send back the results. RCMP part is the longest part of this whole process. As various people have said on this board is 4 mths.

Your husband will need the ARC. I spoke w/ immigration and various lawyers and evem though my husband also bought his tkt and left on time, he's still considered deported so thts why you need the ARC. But buying the tkt saved $$1500. But you never know, Charlie advised me that someone on this board got thru in 9 mths and she was in the same situation as us. So you never know. Prayer goes a long way.

Good afternoon forum family
I swear CIC has got to have some of the rudest people ever
So I called yesterday to find out if my application was received
The (censored word) asked me if when I sent in my application
I told her march 16th
IF YOU WOULD BELIEVE WHAT THIS (SENSORED WORD, SENSORED WORD) RAISED HER VOICE LIKE 4 OCTIVES AND SAID WELL CHECK THE WEBSITE YOU WILL SEE THAT IT TAKES 90 DAYS TO PROCESS YOUR APPLICTION AND IT HASN’T BEEN 90 DAYS YET HAS IT??
Seriously I wonder what the screening process that cic has people they hire I though when you worked in field that is called call centre or customer service for a reason
I am so frustrated right now. I swear I had a good mind to tell that (censored word ) a thing or two
But I bite my tongue because I will not let this situation kill my spirit

Hello beautiful people!

It's Friday so I have a day off tomo yippee lol...

Just talked to my MP's office. I was a little disconcerted about my "update" as it had no case-specific details. I asked her to read the e-mail she received word for word. It said "file was sent to visa office december 2011" and "it is still processing within the 16 month timeline". soooo, I am not "IN PROCESS" . She is not satisfied after I explained to her that no where does it state that my file has even been received in Kingston. I told her that I want a date it was received and possibly at what stage of approval I am at ex. background check or selection stage etc..

Here is one thing interesting she told me... Kingston still does RCMP checks on every applicant just in case they were here illegally

Anyways, I also noted to the MP's office that Kingston states on their phone recording that applicants should receive AOR within 8 weeks of the file being transferred from Canada. I have not received this and therefore my MP feels that these 2 reasons make for a good time to contact Kingston and push for some details. I am very hopeful that I will hear something about my file now. Since Dec. 22 I have not had an update. for all I know, my file got lost on the journey down south lol.

Sorry to hear that Jamgirl. I honesrly thought that your file would have been looked at already. Just email Kingston to get further details. I do know that my file stated in process 6 mths after I filed my application. So because you filed in Decemeber hopefully you see in process for June.

My husband will also need a ARC because he waited for PRAA and it was denied. However your case sounds like he left after his refugee denial so as long as you left within the 30 days after the refugee denial, then you will not need the ARC. My husband appealed the refugee denial so in Canada's eyes thats pretty much overstaying. However because your husband lived here over 6 months the RCMP check will def have to be done. The best part is you will not need the ARC, that saves $400 and 2 months extra on your processing time. As long as you didn't wait for PRAA and left the date they told you to after the refugee denial, you should not need a ARC.

this is very interesting cuz my hubby was in canada and overstayed cuz we applied for an extension for his visitor visa and they denied it and was told that he had to leave and we didnt have to do a ARC.

I think cause your case involved a visitor visa, thats why you didnt experience any problems. My husband came up on a visa, then filed refugee as the expiration for the visa came up. You and your husband were a lot smarter with extending your visa. Refugee usually is to buy you time, and my husband was not too smart in the process.

Thank you tintin, Actually I emailed Kingston 2 months ago when I never received an AOR and quoted in my email their voicemail message information. Never received anything from them and so I resorted to calling my MP a month later. I actually filed in October so I was hoping to hear something by now... anything to tell me that my file is not lost at sea, floating around Cuba or somewhere lol...

At least now I think I will get some answers... I knew that I wasn't being impatient... I just always felt like something wasn't exactly right with my processing... now my MP believes the same thing too...

So hopefully I get a response in the next 2 weeks!

I know that lots of people on here didn't get AOR... in fact Im not sure that any in fact did get it... but this is the loophole that my MP can use to get some details on my file. I need this for my mental health...
