Agree with suki, best wishes and thoughts going with your hubbies as they prepare for this important hurdle in your processing.
Also, if I can be "facety" and give you guys some advice for the husbands when they go to the interviews. Dress like this is a job interview. Clean, collared shirts with neatly ironed pants (no jeans!) and polished footwear. A tie would be nice, but I won't stress that, it is hot out these days. Leave the cargo shorts, the "Vybz Kartel Fi Life" t-shirt, the Timberland boots, big gold chain etc etc at home. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this type of clothing, I am just saying it is inappropriate for going to a government office, and moreover one that holds the power to determine your future in its hands.
You cannot imagine my dismay on both of my visits at how some of the people I saw presented themselves at the embassy. Some were dressed in too tight, too revealing outfits (women) and some men were entirely too casually dressed for persons going to conduct business (yes, this is business!) with a foreign government. I was not amused to stand in line behind a "gentleman" (I use the term very loosely) whose shorts were only held on to him by his belt somewhere below his hips, so when he was asked to remove the belt during the security inspection, I was treated to the full view of his underwear. Please, make sure they wear properly fitting clothing that doesn't fall off if their belt must be removed!
How we project ourselves is very important, and you can bet the IOs conducting the interviews will be dressed in business wear, so it is a good thing for your husbands to meet them on their own level. Not only will it give the IOs a positive image (they will see their own business-like manner and attire reflected at them, which is important in human reactions) but feeling that they are meeting the IOs on the same level will give your husbands a confidence boost.
Just my tuppence! I hope you guys have been preparing, and feel ready to move into the next stage!
OMG Congratulations and jubilations AMANDA, one update coming right up!!!
