@Jamgirl- well, I haven't sent in the addt'l docs yet...although I will be soon. But primarily, I just wanted to know where my application was at so gave the emailing a try. You're right, you are probably second guessing yourself now...I know it's easier to say then do but maybe just wait until the end of April to see if there's any news???

Someone recently posted here about getting your MP involved and how it can delay your application--not sure if we confirmed whether this was 100% true or not but look back maybe about 3 days or so to read postings...

Jamgirl, yes, it can be hard to wait while others make progress and seemingly you don't. But I say "seemingly" because sometimes the IO working on your file just does not update eCAS and although progress is being made, you don't know anything is happening. Remember, a lot of MPs won't want to get involved if the processing time is not past the average stated by CIC, and you are at 5 months out of a posted 15. That's one-third the time, so take deep breaths, relax and get on with your life and plans for now. If you really want to know what's going on with your file, order your GCMS notes, wait the 30 days for it and then you'll have an idea.

Also, sometimes no news really can be good news. I have seen a couple cases where as soon as the files reach KG they did the initial review and called the applicants for interviews, which only caused more stress while they waited and prepared. So far you have not heard anything like that, so maybe normal processing is going on for you and you just need to roll with it, trusting that things are going as they should.

@ Jamgirl, I know it is hard to see the updates, but my girl you just filed. It hasnt even passed the 20% of cases mark. I was prepared to wait 18 months to 2 yrs based on what I have first hand witnessed with ppl I kno who have sponsored ppl to Canada. I have at least 3 friends, plus a lot of other aquaintances who either sponsored husbands/wives, or family members and their apps took forever. And all of them are Jamaican, with Canadian citizenship sponsoring other J'cans. I know it is not fair, but you have to prepare yourself for the long haul. Then when it works out sooner you will be pleasantly surprised. I just set my mind it was going to take up to 2 years. Then when I see things moving a bit, we figured MAYBE he would be here by xmas or New yrs, but seet it work out different. Just keep going yu will see see how things will pleasantly surprise yu.

Hey guys, I definitely won't be driving when I go to JA. Will tell you a kinda funny story.....while in Canada for 2 1/2 yrs my hubby wouldn't drive because his Jamaican license was expired,(conveniently, he would drive when he had to go somewhere like the race track), he said he would just be Obama and sit back and let me drive him around. (whenever we went out, I wouldn't drink because I won't drink and drive and to much $ to take taxis back to our house so that was a pissy spot between us lol) So he told me when I came down to JA he was going to teach me to drive in JA I said " no way, I am going to be Obama this time!" Well, that certainly made him laugh.......so no worries, I am not driving, no way no how! lol

I'm in sunny California for a wk with work, so it's keeping my mind busy and off the upcoming interview hubby has on the 24th. tracking my CAIPS and it's 72% done....so it looks good....!!!

I'm off to the San Diego Zoo....my fellow Canucks that got freezing rain and snow...I'm sorry I'll try to soak up enough sunshine to bring home..kk

so my husband is at the police station or place to get check and prints...and dem nahhh call no #s!!

He said theyre about about 11, and he # 90....he's been there from morning and said a joke ting dis dem nah call no one and di ppl dem beg!!

how do i contact the station...fucking slacness and laziness...YOW tis is the SHIT I HATE ab out Jamaica...they prolyl in the back room playing dominoes, fucking eachother or something...and NOBODY can tell mi they dont keep up wid dat kinda dukkry cause ive seen it with my OWNA eyes!! not the fukcing thing..but a feel dem feel up ppl ...and do fuck all..except for show attitude, and collect a paycheck.

HOW some of these ppl keep they jobs is BEYOND ME!!

Good morning forum family. Jam I hope you're not enduring what Maple had to a couple years ago. During her app it came to light that someone had sent a letter stating that it was a MOC. After the 1st letter was cleared up she went to drop off her PP and was told that a second letter was sent claiming MOC once again. In the end she found out that her own mother had sent the letters. Added 6 months to her app. Good to contact MP if you're worried at all. The good news, even that BS was cleared up so keep the faith everyone. Be cautious who you can trust as many may be envious of you and can create havoc.

@ Anada - yuh nuh easy!

@ Canuck - Exactly, except the first letter wasn't a letter, it was an anonymous phone call and so the IO requested an interview. She found out about it in her CAIPS notes. Second letter came after visa was inserted in passport and when they picked up passport, IO told them about the letter and that it was from her mother and that they could not have their passports until they researched the letter.... this is what I am beginning to fear as I was threatened this last year...

and @ Mrslswn - Im not expecting to get thru right this minute... just asking for an update here as they have managed to give one to EVERYONE else on this forum from 2011, excpet me... I realize you got thru quick, and I am fully aware of the 16 month mark, so please stop reminding me...

@ Anada... I actually when with my husband back in October to do his police clearance and we where there from 730am and never left until 330pm. I believe we had number 23. So I think he may have to come back another day cause that happen to so many people. The best thing to do is have him go very early about 530-600am at least that way he would be one of the first persons in line. Its a very slow system. Question: Did he pay for the police clearance at the tax office already and have his receipt?

Need some advise!

I HAVE the FLU! And I'm 27weeks pregnant. I know that there are so many medicine that I normally would take but now because of the pregnancy I can't. Any suggestion on what I can take? I feel awful! Hubby is freeking out. Every hour he calls. I think he's more concern because I am pregnant. It is getting worst. My doctor prescribed nothing.

HELP!!!
