I did interview so they stamp my passport same day
But I know it will take like a month or less to stamp your passport and get it back to you
Okay. Did they give you a time frame in which the stamp expires? I’m sure it will be the same time since this was just a month or so ago. Just wanna be prepared.

Hey Guys,

I got some INTERESTING information from KVO today.

So I had to send in my sons birthcert through webform and they responding confirming receipt and advising me that they " received " my application on May 1st ( online ECAS says it " started" processing on that day). KVO went on to advise that the processing time is actually calculated from when KVO receives application( so im assuming they are saying not when missisauga receives it). They also went on to add that they process the applications in order in which they receive it. So I'm wondering if people who have submitted dec/jan have gotten visas why is it that there are oct and nov applicants who haven't :/ Like I'm just so confused .. the average turn around for KVO seems to be 7 months from initial submission to missisauga to Visa in hand. Its very confusing to say the least .. feel free to add your two sense.

here is a portion of what they wrote:-

Please be advised that this Family Class application was received in Kingston on 2018/05/01. The application will be reviewed in accordance with its place in the queue for applicants in this category, based on the application received date.

Your spouse’s application is going through the required assessment process and be assured that we dedicate all our efforts to processing the application as quickly as possible.

Processing times for these applications are calculated from the date the application is received by the Kingston visa office. For actual processing times of permanent resident applications in Kingston for the last 12 months, consult this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/08-fc-parents.asp. ( the Link is broken )

Please note that granting a specific time frame for finalization of the application cannot be given.

We continue to work hard to make our processing of Family Class applications as efficient as possible, while at the same time bearing in mind the capacity of our settlement community to support and assist newcomers with their transition toward making Canada their home.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.
From what I have gathered, every app is unique and not every immigration officer works as effiently as each other.
My question is, does KVO stop processing from June-August, as I have been told? (They seem to not schedule interviews during that time period).Apparently, they focus on visitor visas during this time.

I agree with you. I have been in process for 11 months still no news. Just taking it day by day. Hope we can get a visa before they go on holidays.

Wow! Pretty sure that you will hear something soon. Either interview or PPR!
Background check has been in process 3 months. So I really hope we hear something soon. Were getting close to our medicals expiring which won't leave us much time to land. Praying is the only thing we can do.

what is taking them so long?? I don't get it.
There is a lot of apps from May and June who are in limbo maybe even prior months that have been waiting for news. I think there was me and another person who applied in April. She just got through in 12 months through KVO office. Our police check is expired as it has passed the year mark.

How did I get through at 4 1/2 months then, it makes no sense. And the officer told us that she only had the app for a few weeks, she Called my husband right away for his interview

Nothing makes sense with them. I started making life in Jamaica. We just bought our first car and now we're looking for land so we can build.
