Good morning everyone! Just wanted to give an update. My husband went for his interview yesterday and he got through! They practically interrogated him, even asking questions about me before we even met. He said that some of the questions were impossible. A woman called from the High Commission of Canada Ottawa (she sounded Canadian) to ask me questions for approx. 20 minutes. She grilled me with questions, my hands were sweating. Before the conversation ended with her, she said she was going back to continue the interview with him. I will find out more details about the questions that she asked and I will post it before the end of the week. He had to wait while she issued the Visa. Praying for all of you to get some updates and get through soon! :):):)
Seems they’re only like this with Jamaican applicants why? I’m Canadian sponsoring my Jamaican spouse who is 14 years younger. I’m just sweating buckets here. App recevd at Mississauga on March 27 waiting for the first response.

What a day, interview was at 9:00, we were done and approved by 10:20. We now have the visa in hand and leaving from Montego Bay on Saturday. This site honestly has been awesome. We are exactly 4 1/2 months start to finish. Now it’s time for a nap!!

wow congrats.. fastest one yet.

That's amazing jamaican's love their football lolol. so he doesn't complain about being home bored while your gone to work?

I love the idea of night overnight shift allows both parents time home with kids.

Not at all. He was in the Jamaican military. So this is a relief for him. I do days and nights so it helps me able to spend more time when im off.
Currently, we are in Jamaica attending a funeral but also, we are trying to get bm to sign rights away. So that I can adopt them in Canada. Know she is going to ask for money. Its unfortunate that she wont look at the best interest of the kids when she never raised them.

once you get approval for the visa. how long does the applicant have to leave Jamsica by?

Adopt them dont you automatically become their legal gaurdian once they came to canada? What's the difference? Maybe i need to do that too.. i was able register for school and benefits even added to my city credits.

I figured once bm signed form to have child migrate she lose all rights and becomes a non factor

Not sure. That would make it so much easier.

Can you explain what difficulties would arised that having legal guardianship can't handle that would benefit from adoption? Just trying to plan ahead

I didnt notice one of your replies above. I think I need to consult a lawyer to find out some answers. Adoption would prevent the children to sponsor any of the extended family on the bm side once they become of age. This I dont want happening. Its true that we become their legal guardian. Thats good you registered for school. Its nice they are coming in nicer weather. Family came in December so getting the kids used to winter attire was fun!

oh ok its personal preference.

Canadian immigration does not laws allow sponsorship of extended family only for Parents and grandparents once sponsor is over 18yrs and meet the income requirement for 3 consecutive tax years. I really doubt adoption can stop that cause DNA testing and original birth certificate would prove relationship.

Sometimes its just bad feelings after a realationship has ended that causes the children to be in that position. Sometimes i bet your husband regret having children with certain kind of women.

Hopefully he can talk to her or the avenue he has to go down it taking her to court to fight for full custody. Proving this move not to sign the papers in NOT IN THE BEST interest of children.

From what I read somewhere on cic website, once adoption has completed, the child (over age 18) cannot sponsor her biomom cause the adoption severs the ties. She is manipulative and crazy want to protect myself in the future
