From what i have seen through husband checks, They start security checks from when you submitted app to Mississauga. They have checked with US and other allied countries if there are reportable traces. On my husband interview date, gckey changed to background check in process during the interview. They definitely do it prior to and during interview i believe. I cant really answer how long does it take. Hope this helps
yes it was helpful. im just wonder how they check people background without fingerprints?

Doesnt the spouse have to have fingerprints taken for the police certificate? They search databases based on name etc. They work closely with interpol in Jamaica and the police.

Hi Guys!!!!!!!! I went to the interview with hubby on Nov 2 @ 1pm..We were there for about 2 hours because they made us go in town for new passport size pics and comeback to them!!! HE GOT HIS VISA ON SPOT!!! I am so happy that this process is finally over!! My hubby is coming home with me tommorow.. The immigration officer asked not even one question. They took his passport and we waited for visa to print and that's it... lol one of the ladies in the front said we took a risk with buying plane ticket so soon. So happy I did.. Guys my advice is if U can take a couple days off of work and support your spouse at interview I found that helped with no questions being asked... Good Luck Guys!!!
Congratulations

Everything in Port Antonio is written in one biiiiiiig book the size of my desk, I don't see how they really can tell anything that goes on in the small towns unless it reaches court in Kingston

Any update from ayomas on interview?
Sorry everyone, i've been so busy, didnt get a chance to update the forum.
Hubby and i went to the interview together. we had a 9 am appointment. They called him in at 8:20, he was in there for 2 mins and then they called me in. The officer told us that she had reviewed our file in details and had no doubts and that she would not be interviewing him. She asked us for 10 mins to get the visa into his passport. We had everything in hand before 9:30 am. I had bought hubby's ticket to come home for November 2nd, but we changed the flight and flew home on October 28th. Hubby is at an orientation for a new job this morning. I would like to thank the group for your support throughout this process.
