hey guys any body know how long does it take to pass the security checks? and when do they start security scan? after interview? or before?
I'm not sure but I think the security scan is before the interview. It makes sense to me, they want to have all the necessary information before the interview so they will be informed to ask you, if needs arise .

Good afternoon all,

I'm looking for info and hoping that you ladies and gentlemen would help me please and thank you.

My fiancé and I are planning to get married next year. I'm Canadian and he is Jamaican. He is currently working in Canada as a migrant worker. He has been in the farm working program for more than 10 years. I'm wondering which application would be best for us, inland or Outland. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of each. Your input, opinions and experiences are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

If he plans to stay in Canada while during the whole process then you have to do inland however if he will return to Jamaica until the process is complicated ( especially when it's time for him to submit passport/interview ) then it's Outland. I was informed that inland might take longer therefore I decided Outland was the better option for me. It depends on you and your spouse.

Do you know if his farm workers visa would be revoked upon or application?

I think it Would be revoked pretty much at the end of the process, when he submits his passport to the immigration . For instance , I'm being sponsored by my hubby and I have a Canadian visitor Visa. My application was submitted May 4, 2017 and three weeks ago I travelled to Canada. My point is, it has not yet been revoked, however at my interview date or when they ask for my passport ( which is almost at the end of the process, I am sure they will( That also happened in my sister's case ).

Our background check started to be in process once we were sent the interview invite. As they more often than not seem to issue visas at the interview, I would assume they would complete it beforehand. From what I've heard from others who have received their visa, the background check didn't change from in process to complete until their visa had been issued and showed "decision made".

Thats the long queue of applications. I am waiting for husband notes. How long did it take to receive the notes? I feel for you. It probably says reviewing eligibility in mycic acct. That would be frustrating.

I feel for you ladies :( I know a few people who submitted their apps in March and are still waiting for an update too. I wish the process was more transparent, I understand and respect that it won't happen overnight, but CIC could at least be required to give applicants a monthly update or something... anything... it's so difficult for families to be left in the dark for so long.

Trust me its almost 6 months in on Sep 17. Its like your life is on hold. Some days are better than others. Sometimes really feel im missing out on our children growing and my partner. Hopefully september will bring good news. I hope we get our spouses before Christmas!

I guess maybe I shouldn't complain because im just a little over 4 months but im just over the waiting period. I am trying to condition my time re this waiting period. Im so frustrated though and I think its because I am not hearing anything. Its like a waiting game with no news forthcoming. If they had given us monthly updates, I would have felt better as I would be kept abreast of the developments but since it reached KVO its like a dead end... nothing! It can get very frustrating so I am taking my mind off it a bit. I give them by December to contact me for an interview, if I am to be interviewed. By giving myself until December, im limiting how disappointed I get if they do not contact me before.

Went to view my GCKEY Account for updates and it is not working. Apparently, it has been down from this morning (base on other posts I see on different forums on this site)... I wonder;)

Yeah I won't start getting angry until I hit 12 months ... don't get me wrong I hate the waiting game too... I've been super depressed ever since I got back from my 3 week trip to Jamaica in July ... everyone around me keeps asking what's wrong and I tell them I just want my hubby here :( I can't afford these every 3 month trips so I just put it in my mind that I'll be patient and potentially wait 6 more months. Just remember... a year from now we'll all have our spouses and children by our side! :D
