This forum is for spousal sponsorship in family class. You havent provided any information as to how this Kingston thread can help you. This thread has Jamaicans principle applicants and Canadian sponsors. Are you married, common law etc to a Canadian? This is a forum that you can ask the process for application for permanent residence. Some may not be comfortable exchanging numbers.

After a long journey my husband will finally be arriving on Wednesday. Keep the faith everyone. The wait will be worth it in the end.
Congrats!! So happy to hear that the finish line of this long journey is so near for the two of you.

Hello Iam a Jamaican also. Iam living and working in Jamaica and I would want to migrate to Canada. However I have a few questions I would want to ask another Jamaican who is also in the process of migrating or just going to Canada. I will leave my whatsapp # so we can continue this very important discussion. Please 414-0590
Hi, did you recently got married as in what route are you planning to take to migrate? I live in Jamaica as well.

Skilled worker route. Iam recently married in Jamaica to a Jamaican lol
Oh, I recently married a Canadian. I don't have much information on the skilled route. That's the route my brother in law took, he said he regret it initially as it was a long road but now ( 5 years later) he said it was worth it. I guess you could ask me questions and I could ask him and relate it to you.

Go to the section that says Federal skill workers express entry and you will find all the answers there. Thats the route i used to migrate to Canada. Back in the days it used to be long. But with the new express entry system it takes like six months to process. There is a Jamaican thread there too.

I have been through the application. We are a young couple who have been together for 8 months. We have both traveled back and forth to see one another but do not have much documentation of shared expenses. We plan on getting married in October but then planning something when he arrives in Canada so my grandparents may attend as I really want them here. So I guess I am worried.

I wouldn't worry about shared expenses I also don't have this and not sure why they ask I think this is mostly for people doing inland application as it is all combined now. Mostly pictures and phone records is what is needed!!!

Good Morning everyone:

thankfully I found this site. this may help with all my questions.
I am about to hire an Immigration consultant to bring my husband from Jamaica, as I'm so confused by the amount of paperwork.

We have already been turned down for a visitors visa as they say he has no real ties to Jamaica. My husband has no kids and lives with his family.
I am applying for permanent resident, and I was wondering is it even worth trying to bring him over on a visitors visa while waiting? We will be travelling to Mexico for my friends wedding in October, I would just like him to come visit Canada.

I travel to Jamaica about every 6 weeks to visit him but even that is getting too expensive.

If I'm going to get a definite refusal I'm not sure I want to waste the extra money for the visa to visit?

Thank you in advance.

Hi!
My suggestion is to NOT apply for another TRV but start the PR paper work. They are moving much more quickly and your husband, if no issues, should get approval within a year. If you are overwhelmed by the paperwork or think there may be some issues than hire a lawyer, otherwise you should be able to do yourself if you look over the paperwork and feel free to ask us questions on here everyone is really helpful :)
