Hi.. I have a question about speeding up the marriage certificate.
I know I have to write a letter explaining why I need it faster than 12 months.
What else do I need??
Thanks

Where were you married? If you were married in Canada it only take a few weeks to this this

I didn't have to wait to the whole 12 weeks.
Apply as soon as you can for it, you would be surprised how fast it comes.
Order it online and as soon as its registered they will mail you a copy, I received my marriage certificate in about four weeks.

And do order both the long form and short form and any other form available :-)

Took me about 3 weeks to get mine here in Ontario when I applied for it

It was performed in Ontario.
The clerk told me it could be faster.. Like 10 days or so.
I'm not sure how though

Thanks for all the answers, guys

They say it takes 10-12 weeks for the marriage to be registered before you can apply. However, I applied 2 weeks after my wedding, it just says that the 15 day guarantee doesn't apply because wedding was recent. A week later, it was put in the mail. So, I'd say, apply for it anyways because you never know. There's no harm in doing so.

That's an atypical experience. Mine took 2 weeks which is very unusual as well. The published and expected wait time is 10-12 weeks.

I waited the full 12 weeks. I applied the day after we were married. It seems the only way to get it faster is if you are being deported from the country, thats what the lady told me. I called every two weeks to see where it was lol . Apply and hopefully it will come sooner . I have had 3 friends get married in Ontario and they all had to wait the full 12 weeks. I guess it depends on how busy they are . I even sent it myself express post just incase the registrar was not on the ball. Didn't make any difference.

=( That sucks!
I mean, it shouldn't take that long.
But I guess, lots of people are getting married this season.
I am kinda stuck in here.. I don't wanna go back to my country and wait there, but on the other hand I think I should because I might find a job or something.. u know.
