Now....let's see how fast those RQ applicants get processed when the new apps go down to a trickle.

Any bets?

Someone may want to start tracking Test and Oath letters after 6/11...I predict it will not speed up because of the backlog of RQ applicants.

Dependabill?, Others? Whats your prediction?

Or even the non-RQ applicants who have been waiting a while ;-). I wonder if withdrawing the present application and re-applying will make it go faster.

I feel sorry for those who were expecting July1, 2015 as last date, very sad :'(, frankly if this rule came into force somewhere around September or October, 2015 would have been a better idea, as lot of guys would have saved from waiting one or two more year.

Accordingly to my estimate from this Forum around 90% of the people can be saved from frustration of waiting for around one or two more years. It is not the case of all the applicant that they want to run away from Canada, hardly 5% wants to do that but waiting under the sword of "intent to reside" for another year is frustrating (in my opinion).

My feeling goes with new applicants.

Many people believes that word FRUSTRATION doesn't exist in CIC vocabulary.

If my application reaches out on 09 or 10 June am I safe?

What day you qualify? Keep in mind 2-business days minimum delivery time.

So am I correct to assume that this new rule (4/6) applies to all new citizenship applications after June 11th, regardless of your date of becoming a PR in Canada?

Not only that

Adult applicants must declare their intent to reside in Canada once they become citizens and meet their personal income tax obligations in order to be eligible for citizenship

You have to reside in canada after being Canadian

U cannot live canada u have to live in canada forever or every 6 months

You gotta use courier and pay for 1 or 2 day shipping. DHL,FEDex and Canada Post are good choices.

I am not an expert, however I think that's not the way to interpret the clause.

Among the many benefits of the government's citizenship reforms, the new provisions will deter citizens of convenience – those who become citizens for the sake of having a Canadian passport to return to Canada to access taxpayer-funded benefits that come with citizenship status, without having any attachment to Canada, or contributing to the economy.
