Just got the citizenship and Travelling to India

Hi everyone,

I will be picking up my Canadian passport on Sept 22nd and I will be travelling to India on Oct 6th. Given I have only few weeks in between can I surrender the Indian passport when I am back in 3 weeks or I have to do it before? Also, do I need any proof for passport surrender while applying evisa for India?

I looked up how to surrender the passport it says it will take 8 weeks to get the certificate but I can't postpone my trip as it is planned a year back. Please help and any suggestion will be appreciated

Passport surrender you can do later. Currently you can apply for e-visa with your Canadian passport.
